Snapshot Saturday

I miss him

And these:

Did I mention I have the social life of an 80-year-old woman these days? It's true. Except I don't knit.

Yet.

Boy hands are a favorite. Nine more months... with an R & R in there!

My husband is still here and I have that social life. =) And I can knit...and crochet...that's how I roll. Keep on keepin' on. I'm routing for you.

Good thing you don't live here, because I could teach you how to knit! There may not be any hope for you then!

We should start a club - the could-be-confused-for-an-80-year-old-woman-but-with-perkier-bosoms (cause that sounds like something an 80 year old would say)-club.

Oh gosh, me too. I was just thinking about hubby's hands the other day. I was riding in the passenger seat of a girlfriend's car and impulsively started to reach over to hold hubby's hand like I do when he's driving us somewhere. I had to stop myself before I completely freaked out my friend! We're 9 months into this deployment and I still have those moments.

Yeah, I've definitely had my weeks where that's how I've felt too!

I totally know how you're feeling, but we're three months down... only a few more to go!

I just recently found your blog and I'm so glad I did. I can relate, we've only just begun (a week) and I already miss his hands, his eyes well, everything. Hang in there!

I understand. When they are home they tend to get on your nerves, and then when they are away you WISH they were home to get on your nerves. Aww love.

By the way there is this really awesome British woman who can teach you how to knit via online video. I will find the link and send it to you.

Hah...and when you're ready to start knitting, you know who to call. I've got plenty of yarn.

Wait, are you trying to say I'm 80?

Aw, from personal experience, I promise things get better. The first couple of months of the deployment I would say are the hardest, because you're adjusting, and everything is fresh. I found one of the best things to be supportive friends and family. I know you're overseas, and may not have many friends within reach, but maybe emails and calls with friends back home when you're having a rough day would be helpful. A listening ear is golden.
And I completely understand what you mean about the social life of an 80 year old! haha Don't feel bad about it. I definitely felt like that when my boyfriend at the time left. We did a lot together, and he was a big part of my so-called social life. So when he left, I didn't go out a lot. But just doing normal, every day things helps a lot. And maybe diving deeper into a hobby/business, like your photography, since you have more time now that he's away. And when you see him again, you can show him how much you've done and he'll be proud of you! :)
I hope some of that helped. And those 2 pictures are really good by the way!
