I want a PRO! Not an Amateur!

Wow, I had no idea yesterday when I wrote about Toby Keith that it would draw such a strong response. I actually got a few e-mails from people about it. I do want to clarify a few things though. A. I did not hear those actual words from Toby Keith himself, those were words from his "camp". B. It's not like I want Toby to be a jerk. As a military spouse and fellow Oklahoman I hope he doesn't follow through on those things that were said. I will say though that this tour is USO sponsored, yet my boss says she doesn't know if she can even get in to see Toby. I find that a bit odd.

Like I said yesterday, I'll have to see for myself. The concert is slated for this evening, yet it appears it might rain. If it's pouring, then I don't know if I'm going to stand outside for a few hours for a concert.

So today I had to go to the doctor. To, ahem, that kind of doctor. I actually had a great discussion with him. Not to make this a TMI post, but I've had some problems with my birth control and I think we've found a way to fix that without doing anything drastic. The only downside of the visit is that he wanted some blood taken so he could check my Vitamin D levels. If you know me well, then you know how much I hate having my blood taken. It ranks right up there with going to the dentist. I get hot, dizzy and want to pass out. The first attempt didn't go so well. The guy who was trying to take the blood says, "Are you sure you're ok, there's nothing coming out." Seriously dude! Are you joking?! We just talked at length how getting my blood taken makes me sick. He goes to find someone else to do it and the girl who comes in gets it on the first try. THANK GOD! Please don't give me an amateur blood-taker when I have issues in the first place.

I've heard from Sean a couple of times this week. Usually they are 3AM texts that I don't find until the next morning that go something like this, "Love you Princess, just got in, get to sleep for a couple of hours and then out again." Ugh..and he wonders why I don't want to be in the Army?

Tomorrow I have the day off and Saturday I'm headed to Portofino for a day trip. I'm so excited!I just hope it doesn't rain this weekend and mess up the perfect opportunity for picture taking.

EW! Getting blood taken freaks me out too. I am so glad you finally got a pro in there.... ugh.

Glad to hear you got everything figured out at the doctor!

Yeah... the BC can be tricky. I went on it a while back to get things "stabilized" so to speak, and it made my life a living hell for a month... needless to say, I was switched off of that stuff ASAP.

Glad to hear you got things figured out without drastic measures!

I had to have an I.V. for my teeth extraction (I say "had to" like it was a bad thing-thank god I was knocked out!) anyway, they had to put a needle in me and I too absolutely hate such things and have passed out before. However, the oral surgeon provided laughing gas first!! I think this is brilliant and should be standard for any procedure that involves a needle.

Yeah, I'm not good at getting my blood taken either. My friends are almost all medics, and they swear they'd be able to do it easily. One of them gave me an IV one morning, and I about passed out.

I've been pretty happy with the BC I'm using, the ring. It's so nice to not have to think about it except twice a month.

I'm hoping Toby isn't as much of a jerk as that memo made him sound.

I hate having my blood taken. I would rather go see "that" kind of doctor than have blood drawn (they don't normally). In fact, I was 23 before I even ever had blood drawn. It was slightly traumatic (okay just in my head) but I survived! I hope the concert all works out perfectly :)

The blood thing does the same thing to me... I always tell them up front "you are going to have to use the butterfly needle I have small veins" I even had this nurse say to me once "honey I have been doing this longer than you have been alive I got this"

DO you think she got it?? so I had to get stuck 2 times, and now I will not let them go near me if its not the butterfly needle (they use it for kids and i think its fabulous in the sense if they have to do it, it has to be done!)

I've given blood probably a dozen or more times and I still hate it when I get an amateur to do the job and they have to move the needle around inside the vein to get a good flow. It's irritating and I think that's probably why most people won't give blood; they're too scared of getting hurt by an idiot who doesn't know what he's doing.
Have fun on your trip!

Portofino!! You are so lucky! I am dying to go to Italy! Luckily I get to go in a matter of three weeks! We might have to meet up one of these days! Girl, how did you get that many followers?!? Post about my giveaway on your blog and kick some of them my way!! :) Take Yasmine. NOT YAZ or any substitute. I've never had an issue.

Portofino...isn't that featured in the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun"?

I also have a really bad problem with getting shots and having blood taken. I have to lay down for both, otherwise I WILL faint. My dad and boyfriend laugh at me because of it, but I just get really nervous and anxious about, guess what, fainting.

Have fun taking photos! Really jealous!
