Weekend in Review....plus pictures!

Well, well, well....Monday awaits me once again.

I wish it was the weekend already! For one thing I have a feeling this upcoming weekend is going to be super-fun, but more on that later in the week.

I had a good time this past weekend. Sean had to work some of Saturday and I baby-sat for a few hours on Saturday afternoon and of course took tons of baby pictures. The parents asked me what I wanted for watching their child and I told them nothing, but they brought me two bottles of wine! How nice is that? I of course had to open one of them Saturday night and had a few tasty glasses.

Sean and I also watched the Texas Tech/Texas game on Saturday night. Technically he fell asleep in the 3rd quarter, so I watched the rest of the game. Boy was it exciting! I don't know how many of you out there watched, but I was on the edge of my seat in the final 2 minutes!

On Sunday, Sean and I had to do a quick Wal-Mart run and then decided to stop at KFC for lunch. Can I just say how much I love a good KFC buffet? Also thank god I was raised in the South, where you can find any variety of fried food. The chicken breast I had was to die for and the fried zucchini was beyond good too. I know that fried food isn't really that great for you, but I balanced it out with a nice salad last night for dinner, so I feel better about my indulgence at lunchtime.

Last night we watched the newest Indiana Jones movie. I was a bit disappointed by it honestly. Give me the Temple of Doom anyday! I just felt this one was a bit far-fetched. Did anyone else feel that way?

I can't believe it's already November! I reminded Sean of that yesterday and he was quite stoked when he realized he's only with this unit for another month and a half. I know the Army as a whole can be pretty unorganized, but the unit he's in takes the cake. They called him yesterday morning at 10:00 a.m. to tell him he was supposed to be doing staff duty since 9:00 a.m. Not one person had told him about that the entire week. No one bothered to call and inform him of that until after the fact he was supposed to be there. He got one of our friends to do it though, since if he did staff duty for 24 hours it would be hard for him to get to his Transportation Brief this morning and actually retain anything.

I also cleaned out our spare closet this weekend. No easy feat let me assure you. I found a whole bunch of Thanksgiving/Halloween decorations that I had forgotten I even had. How sad is that? Anyway, I got rid of some stuff that I didn't need, put all my Christmas wrapping paper, bows and bags together to take to my parent's house for Christmas. If I plan on spending the next couple of Christmases at my parent's house then there's no need for me to have my wrapping paper packed up and sent to Italy.

Here are a few pics from this weekend:

I really wanted to focus in on his little hand.

Ok..technically I know his face has a shadow on it, but I still thought it was a cute pic.

I love baby hands!

Look at the cool German mug that Sean got for helping with the German infantry badge this past week. He actually got two of them.

This is what I noticed when I was in our bedroom yesterday. Look closely at the shadow.

No funny resumes to report on today. Well, except under qualifications one girl put that she had military security clearance. I'm not sure how that figures into this position, but I have to admit I did chuckle a bit when I read that.

Oh and one more thing. I'm going to have a giveaway in honor of my 200th post that's coming up. Anything in particular you'd like to see me giveaway? Book? gift-card? Something completely random and unexpected? Yankee Candle? Christmas ornament?

Let me know what you think!

That baby is the cutest!!! And I couldn't agree more on the newest Indiana Jones movie! I wish we hadn't spent the money we did to see it in the theater!

Cute mug! Perfect for your upcoming PCS! :)

I think you should give away a plane ticket to the states :)

I agree with Casey. I'd promote your blog like crazy if you were giving away a plane ticket :) Shoot, I'd make a neon sign and put it in the rear window of my car...drive all over Germany with it flashing for all to see. :)

Although, that might backfire cuz then way more people would enter the giveaway, thus decreasing my chance of winning...

Ladies...if I could fly you home to the states for a visit, then I certaintly would! Alas...as you know the military doesn't really pay well. :)

Very cute pictures! You have an eye for this! You should seriously consider doing it as a career! I, for one, would love wedding photography, if I had the skills. Look at my blog list!

Great pics! I was also disappointed by the newest Indiana Jones movie. The part where he jumps inside the frig to survive the nuclear bomb was sooooo rediculous!

That Tech game was insane!!! I just hope OU beats them in a couple of weeks :-)

Both LT and I were totally annoyed by the newest Indiana Jones too. He bought it for us while we were staying at the hotel in Richmond, and that was definitely a waste of money! We did get a good laugh out of it tho. :-p

Great pictures! That UT/TT game was awesome! Speaking as someone who has to hear all the UT alum bragging ALL day long, it was nice to hear not one peep out of them today.

I'm with you on the "this weekend will be fun" part. 4 days and counting!

Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby? :)

I love your pictures! Your baby is beautiful.

The new Indiana Jones totally sucked. I watched it at a drive-in after Kung Fu Panda, and I found myself trying to find constellations in the sky instead of watching that stupid movie.
