Some of you might be puzzling over the title of my blog, so I'll get right to it.
Wednesday night I went to the ER for only the third time in my life. I got stitches for only the second time in my life.
Here's the scoop:
I had just started on making ahead some things for dinner on Thursday. Spinach dip was completed and I was starting the potato casserole. I opened a can of chicken soup, went to pick up the lid and sliced my thumb open. As soon as I did it I knew it was a bad cut. I tried to wash it off and put pressure on it, but my thumb had other ideas. It would not stop bleeding! Twenty minutes goes by and my thumb is still dripping. I finally told Sean we'd have to go to the ER.
Once there I noticed the bleeding had finally stopped, but it still needed something done to it. My thumb was throbbing too from the cut. The ER doctor looked at it and decided they would just glue it. Ok..fine with me. Then the clean it and it starts bleeding all over again. After another 20 minutes they check it and it still hasn't stopped so they opt to just go ahead and stitch it up. Oh..and did I mention they gave me a tetanus shot?
Two shots in my thumb of deadening (which is now bruised) and he stitched me up. Ok..last time I got stitches was when I was 2 or 3 and I don't remember the stitches being that painful. Let's just say I winced every time a stitch went in. Four stitches later they bandaged me up and on my way I went. Thank goodness Sean had some leftover Loritabs from when he hurt his back because they were a lifesaver! I can honestly say I can see how people get addicted to those things!
It hurts a lot less now, but it still looks ugly. I'm due to get the stitches out in about a week.
I sincerely hope this is the last time I hurt myself for awhile!
Thanksgiving was great. We had tons of food, lots of people and a ton of fun. All my food turned out great, even the homemade crusts for my pumpkin pie. The pumpkin pie tasted just like my grandma's, so I was very pleased.
Sean and I slept in today and basically have been eating and laying around watching TV. I swear I've already gained a couple of pounds, but I plan on remeding that when we go to the gym tomorrow before we head to Lake Charles.
I think I'm going to watch a couple of holiday movies tonight. White Christmas anyone?
I hope all of you had a fantastic Thanksgiving and a great Black Friday if you ventured out!

Morning Shenanigans
It's too bad ya'll weren't at my house this morning, because you really missed out on quite a show.
Let me explain.
Ok...in the mornings while I'm getting ready, Boomer and I like to run around and play. I'll chase him, he chases me, I throw his toy, he fetches. You get the picture. Well this morning I was in our spare bedroom and throw his toy down the hall. I decided to hide from him in the closet. Bad idea. On my way to the closet I step on a bag that had parts from Sean's Class A uniform in it. There just happened to be a large pin that goes on his uniform with two large prongs on the back that are very, very sharp.
Yeah...those went in my foot. All the way in my foot might I add.
Talk about painful. Thank god I have no children so they didn't hear the stream of words that came out of my mouth.
I successfully dripped blood on the carpet on my way to the bathroom to clean up my foot.
Oh..and did I mention this is the same foot that I injured twice last week?
Thanksgiving food is bought as of last night and now I just need to clean up a bit around the house, make a few casseroles tonight so I can just pop them in the oven tomorrow and I'm golden. I'm just praying the turkey turns out well. If it doesn't then I'll just blame it on Sean, since he's the one cooking it.
I hope all of you out there have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Back and Better than Ever!
Sorry I have yet to blog! I obviously wasn't on the computer this weekend and once I got home yesterday I relaxed and then cleaned out the fridge in preparation for Thursday so it didn't leave me much time to get on here.
I'm still working on the pictures from New Orleans. I took over 400 while we were there and I'm still editing them in Picasa, so it's going to be probably this afternoon before any pictures are put up.
That being said I had a wonderful time with Sara in New Orleans. We saw some great sites, tried some great food and really got to experience the city. I can thankfully say that when I move that I really got to see the city of New Orleans.
Ok ok...one teaser picture before I post later.
On a different subject, I would like to thank both Sarah and Newlywed Hostess for my awesome new award. They were both kind enough to bestow it on me and I'm very grateful.
Now to pass this on.
1.Positively Preppy In Pink- She's in London currently, although getting ready to come back to the States soon and she takes the best trips. Plus I think she seems like such a sweet girl!
2. A Pretty Peony- she's fun and she's fabulous. Sounds like the perfect criteria to me!
3. What? Mermaids?- a fellow military wife, who's blog I really enjoy reading. She makes me think and she makes me laugh.
4.Lovely Yellow Ribbons- another military spouse who I recently discovered. She's got a naughty Min-Pin like mine. That alone deserves an award!
5. Honey- she makes the most gorgeous quilts and I'm quite excited to meet her once I move to Europe.
5 Things I think are fabulous:
1. Mexican Food
2. Argyle sweaters
3. Forever 21 (how did you not see this coming?)
4. New highlights in my hair
5. Eating delicious holiday food until I'm stuffed
In moving news, we found out today that Sean has to clear EVERYTHING by the 12th of December, which includes housing. Originally our check-out date was to be the 19th, but it's been moved up a week. My last day of work is the 15th, so we will be staying in the Magnolia House on-post until the 16th and then we will be heading home.
Our house is being packed up in less than two weeks.
I still have much to do before that time.
Commence freak out time in 3, 2, 1...

A Series of Unfortunate Events
Last night and this morning were seriously like a bad comedy, which involved me getting into a variety of mishaps.
Mishap #1: Ordered a new lens cap for my camera since I lost mine in Houston. I really wanted to have it before we went to New Orleans so I didn't have to worry about my lens getting scratched. I got the lens cap in the mail last night....it doesn't fit! Now I feel like an idiot and my camera is still sans lens cap. So...I ordered the right one last night, but there's no way it's going to be in before Saturday morning, so I'm going to have to rig up some ghetto looking dust cloth contraption on the front of my camera.
Mishap#2: I kind of rolled my ankle the other day at work when I was leaning on the back of my heel at the copy machine. It didn't hurt it, but it scared me. This morning after Sean had gotten up to go to PT, I wanted to turn our fan down, as it was cold in our room. I get up to stumble over to the fan and in the process catch my ankle on the metal frame that is sticking out from under our bed. I seriously thought I had broken something at that point, but thank god I didn't. Now I just have a very cut-up and bruised foot/ankle. Then I drop a shampoo bottle on that foot in the shower!
Mishap#3: Receive nasty paper cut from Sean's papers that he had in the car.
It is not my day.
Ok...this is totally random, but does anyone remember a Saturday Night Live skit called Country Roses? It was this commercial spoof of classic country singers and featured Jennifer Aniston, Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler.
Basically they did these crazy songs, but also Jennifer Aniston and Maya Rudolph were getting into it because Maya was seeing Jennifer's husband. I bring this up because I thought the songs they were singing were hilarious and the other day I randomly heard this song on Pandora that was called "Fist City" by Loretta Lynn. This song is classic and reminds me so much of that SNL spoof. I even made it my MySpace song today because it's just that hilarious to me. If you haven't heard it you should preview it on ITunes or something.
Now it's time for my favorite part of Friday!
1. What's your must-have Thanksgiving food item?
2. What do you love about the most about fall/winter?
3. Do you decorate for the holidays? If so where do you get the majority of your decorations?
4. Do you have an decorations that are extra special to you?
5. Any alternative Thanksgiving plans besides dinner?
My Answers:
1. Potato Casserole is mine. It's addictive and melt in your mouth good. How can you go wrong with that?
2. I like the crispness in the air, the smokey smell of fireplaces burning and hot drinks from Starbucks.
3. I go all out in decorating for Christmas and I get those decorations mostly at Hobby Lobby. (Of course)
4. My first Christmas ornament is the most special to me. If anything happened to it I'd probably cry.
5. Sean and I want to go to Vicksburg that weekend, but I don't know if that will happen or not. My only other plan that weekend is to go watch Four Christmases.
Can't wait to hear your answers!

Girls Weekend
I'm happy to say that Sara and I are headed to New Orleans this weekend for a girls getaway!
Woo Hoo!
I am just beyond pumped about this. We've already booked out hotel (pet-friendly of course) decided what tours we will be taking (Haunted History and a walking tour of the Garden District) and have been checking out restaurants to see where we want to dine. A stop by Oak Alley Plantation is in the works too so I can get some pics of it.
I was afraid Sean would be a little hesitant for me to go since he wanted us to clean up the house this weekend in preparation for Thanksgiving Day, but I told him I'd do as much as I could tonight and tomorrow so I wouldn't have to worry about cleaning once I got back.
In other news I did a small order from Forever 21 yesterday.
I got this dress I've talked about before:
This adorable long-sleeved shirt:
And a basic, plain white long sleeved shirt. Which is an essential in my book.
I still am really lacking in winter clothes, but I hope to build what I have a little at a time.
I'm so ready for the start of the holidays! Hard to believe that in a week it will be Thanksgiving! I started making my list of what ingredients I need and I think I have it almost completed.
There's actually already a station here that's playing Christmas music. I caught an Elvis tune on there the other morning when I was taking Sean to work. The other morning he had to be at work at 4:00 a.m. and let me tell you, that's when they play all the good music! I heard some Doors and Human League in the 20 minutes it took me to take him to work and drive back home. Why is the reserve the crappy songs for the daytime hours? Riddle me that one people!
Anyone watch the America's Next Top Model finale last night? I wasn't suprised that McKey won, but I wasn't that happy about it either. The whole finale just seemed kind of ho-hum to me. I hope next season is better!
Oh..and before I forget, funny story. Somehow Boomer got into Sean's rucksack yesterday, pulled out an MRE, opened it and enjoyed a 600 calorie Veggie Burger, complete with BBQ stains on my comforter and sheets. Oh..and somehow he managed to cover up the stains on the sheets with the comforter. Crafty little Min-Pin isn't he?
Enjoy the rest of your Thursday everyone!

I should be the new Emily Post!
Random post ahead...be warned.
So two nights ago Sean and I get home from the gym. He volunteers to make dinner. He asked if hot dogs were OK. Feeling low-maintenance I said sure.
I bite into my hot dog and immediately want to puke. He then tells me he made these new "veggie protein hot dogs" that we bought on our last shopping trip.
Ew. Ew. Ew!
I tried to choke the rest of it down and ended up giving the rest of it to Boomer.
It tasted like corn mixed with a lot of cardboard. Even ketchup and mustard couldn't make it better.
As God as my witness I will never eat a veggie hot dog again! (said in my best Scarlett O'Hara voice)
Yesterday I was talking to one of the girls that I baby-sit for. Her husband and mine are good friends and the two of them will be joining us for Thanksgiving.
Anyway.....we were talking about the various families we had invited and how one couple and their children had acted sort of weird about it and then the husband had wistfully told my husband that his wife was insisting on having their "own" Thanksgiving. OK...that's cool. It doesn't hurt my feelings. If you want to have your own Thanksgiving that's more than fine.
THEN I find out yesterday that the reason why they (read: she) isn't coming is because we are having a keg at our house that day.
OK...the keg was not my idea, let me just clarify that. However, the single boys that are coming over wanted to bring one. That's fine. I don't care because I won't be drinking it.
THEN (very dramatic aren't I?) she tries to get the wife who I was speaking to about this and her husband to come over to their Thanksgiving dinner.
Now that ticked me off! First of all, like I said I don't care if you aren't coming to my house, but DO NOT try to re-invite my guests to your dinner! How rude is that?! I feel like calling her up and unloading on her, but because I'm a proper Southern lady I'll just ignore the social ineptitude of this fellow Army wife.
Some people!
Quick kitchen question for all you pasta cooks out there. Everytime I cook pasta it ends up sort of gummy. Am I not cooking it long enough? Or am I cooking it too long? Help is needed please!
In other news, Sean should start clearing in the next week. When he told me that it the happiest I've seen him. (Well minus our wedding day) I know he is so ready to be out of this unit and onto another one. I informed him that when he has some down time from clearing he's welcome to take Boomer to the groomer to get his nails clipped.
Oh...one more thing. Buy this book.
It comes in that version for yourself or All About Us, which is for couples. It's really fun and quite thought provoking. I have both books, but will probably by another copy of All About Me, just because it's fun to see how your answers change.
Have a great Wednesday!

Q & A with New Girl
Thanks for all the great questions everyone! I enjoyed answering all of them.
Let's get started shall we?
Mrs.Newlywed asked: What is the one item of clothing that if it got ruined you would probably die? Wedding dress doesn't count!
Well, honestly I don't have any sentimental value towards my wedding dress whatsoever, so I wouldn't be upset it something happened to it.
Honestly, I don't hold any piece of clothing dear to my heart. I would however be very upset if my t-shirt collection from college got destroyed though. I have kept all my Alma mater t-shirts and sorority t-shirts because I want to make them into a quilt. So...if those were destroyed I admit I'd be very sad!
Tania asked two questions, first question:What is your favorite type of music, band, song?
Well....I have very eclectic taste in music. If you went through my IPOD you would see everything from the Bee Gees to T.I. to Madonna. I also love old country, but only in small doses. I have to say though that 70's era music is my favorite though.
And...if money were no object, where would you do most of your shopping? (Besides Forever 21, b/c we all know how much you love that store!):
Had to take that Forever 21 option away from me huh? Just kidding! This is tough for me to answer too. I never spend much on clothing except on key pieces, like pants or coats. I do love The Limited and I like the clothes at Ann Taylor Loft, but I've never shopped there. As far as spending on a designer? I like simple, classic clothes so probably someone like Donna Karan or something Chanel.
S. Lovely had two questions as well. First: How do you keep positive? What do you do to de-stress?
Well, I keep positive simply by looking at what I have in my life and what I have to be grateful for. I'd rather spend my time being positive then being negative. It's honestly just my nature. However, I am NOT positive all the time, there are days where I want to do nothing my sulk. Thankfully those are few and far between. To de-stress I have to be by myself. I don't want people around. That's why I usually work-out to de-stress myself. Nothing like working out to clear your mind!
Second question from S.Lovely: What advice would you have for others about getting married or the transition from being a couple to being married?
Go to couples counseling from the beginning! When you think you are going to marry someone I think you should seriously start counseling. I didn't do that with Sean, mainly because we got married so quickly and I wish we would have. I think it's good to talk about key issues with an impartial third party.
Also... learn to fight fairly! I personally think it's impractical to assume you will never fight or disagree with your spouse. Don't bring up past issues, don't say things like you always or you never.
Be patient and prepared to make adjustments. I think that's the key to every good marriage. Some days Sean makes me want to choke him with his habits, but I remember I have to adjust to him as well as him adjusting to me.
Finally? The justice of the peace who married us told us this one thing that I will never forget. She said, " There will be days you won't like your spouse, you'll love them, but you won't like them." I think that's true. I love Sean everyday, but honestly there are some days when he does something and I don't like him. Just be realistic in your marriage!
Whew! That was a long answer!
Three good questions from Lindsey: If you could have any job in the world what would it be?
I don't think this is any secret, but I'd be a photographer. A travel photographer! Traveling to all these great places and capturing them for magazines, books, etc.
If you were deserted on a island what 3 drinks and 3 foods would you NEED to take with you?
1. Can I take a Mexican restaurant with me? No? Ok I'll settle with some enchiladas
2. Strawberries! My favorite fruit ever!
3. Pesto with French Bread. *sigh*
1. Dr. Pepper- best pop hands down
2. Mojito with fresh mint! My favorite alcoholic drink
3. Lots of water! I get dehydrated rather quickly.
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
That day was such a whirlwind! I'd have to say it was when Sean saw me with my make-up and hair done and sent me a little text message that said, "You look beautiful baby!"
Rebecca and Laura asked a similiar question: One piece of advice you would give someone marrying into the military?
Be prepared for change! Constant, everyday changes are the norm in this life. I used to be a planner and I had to give that up rather quickly. Roll with the punches. Somedays it makes me hate the Army and sometimes I really love it. Once you get used to things changing you're golden!
Lindsay asked: What is the theme song to your life?
You did have to pick the hardest question ever! I thought about this one all day yesterday. If I were just to pick on title alone? I'd go with "Stayin Alive". Because everday that's what I try to do...stay alive and enjoy my life. I've actually left instructions with friends to play that particular song at my funeral.
Sassy Engineer picked a great question: What would be your perfect day (from start to finish)?
I'd wake up around 9:00, have breakfast in bed. Breakfast would consist of link sausage, hashbrowns, and french toast...with OJ. Can't forget the OJ.
I'd got to the salon for a nice long massage, head off to my favorite stores (Hobby Lobby and Forever 21) before heading to Olive Garden for a tasty lunch. Strawberry Bellini and Chicken Alfredo anyone?
Next up would be a photography session at some place I've not explored before.
Head home to play with the dog and hang out with Sean who's prepared a delicious supper of steak, potatoes and sparkling grape juice. (Don't knock it until you've tried it!)
Finish up the day with an episode of Big Love and some cuddling.
KD asked: What place do you want to visit most while you're in Europe?
Oh...I can't just name one.
1. Normandy and the beaches from D-Day
2. Greece (all of it!)
3. Salzburg Austria
Of course I really want to see ALL of Europe and I do mean all of it. Well...as much as I can in a 3 year period.
Jenn asked: If you were running for President, who would you choose for Vice-President?
Wow...Imagine me as President first of all! Who would I pick as VP? I'd say Colin Powell. I think he's experienced enough in many areas and I'd feel good knowing he has my back.
Rebecca asked: How did you get started with photography? Did you take a class? Have you learned Photoshop?
I'm trying to think back when I got started with photography. Even as a teen, I always wanted to document my experiences, but I didn't have a good camera. When I was in college is when I got my first digital camera and that's when the photography really started happening. I loved doing it and then people actually started liking my work, which made me think about doing this professionally.
Sadly I've never taken a photography class. I really would like to, because I'd like to push the limits of what I'm currently doing and really just increase my knowledge of my camera and photography in general.
I have not learned Photoshop. I did however ask for that for Christmas, so I'm hoping my mom will get that for me. When I edit my photos now I use either Picasa or Photobucket.
D.A.R. was chock full of good questions!
Did you have one "moment" when you realized you were going to marry Sean (aside from the proposal, of course)? If so, what was it?
We were randomly talking about a nametag that I had on at my job at the time and he told me it would look better with his last name on it. It gave me goosebumps when he said that and I just knew. Sounds cliche I know!
Do you wish you could change anything about your wedding?
Yes! My photographer was ok..but not what I wanted. I'd change that for sure. Also I'd get a different dress. Our budget was small since Sean and I were paying for the wedding and I didn't get the dress of my dreams.
What is one thing that you know now that you wish you knew when you graduated high school?
To not blow off college. I did decently, but there was one year when I was going through some bad times and just didn't go to class. I failed or withdrew from every class that year, but one. I really regret that!
What do you do to relax?
I blog, read or scrapbook. I also love popping in a favorite movie or TV season and enjoying it.
What is the ONE thing you LOVE about being YOU?
I love the fact that I can make almost anyone laugh. I love being the happy, cheerful person that people enjoy being around. It makes me feel good!
And finally Casey asked:How often will you visit me when you move over here?
As often as you'll have me over!
What is the happiest moment of your life so far? And the saddest?
Happiest? Moving to Louisiana with Sean. The five months we were apart after we were married were truly awful.
Saddest? Noone really close to me has passed away, but when our family dog died I was a wreck. I still cry sometimes thinking about him.
What is the first thing you would do if money was no object?
I'd buy houses all over the world so I could escape there with friends and family on a whim!

200 Posts and Questions Galore!
In honor of my 200th post I'll be doing a giveaway.....but.... I'm sorry but it's going to be about a week before I get that in gear.
In the meantime I'm going to copy off of several other blogging friends and let you ask any questions you want.
Am I a true blonde? Am I as nice in person as I seem on my blog? Can I put my legs behind my head? Now's your chance to ask whatever you want and find out the truth.
So ask away! I look forward to your questions!

Keeping Up
Man...I feel like I'm not keeping up with blogs at all. Writing them or commenting on all those blogs that I love to read. So, if you notice a decline in my commenting I do apologize. Things are starting to pick-up around here and are only going to increase in the next couple of months.
So far today I've kept myself busy with doing the mail and also ordering a replacement lens cap for my camera. I lost mine while I was in Houston. I guess putting the lens cap in my back pocket of my jeans wasn't such a good idea. Hopefully this lens cap will make it here quickly, because I don't like taking my camera out to shoot without the lens cap.
The rest of my weekend turned out very well. I spent the first part of Saturday with Sara on a shopping trip to Wal-Mart and attempting to help with the organization of her apartment. I don't think I was really that much of a help, but I did iron out the puff pastry to top our delish pot pies with. Sara sent me the recipe so I'll try to post it on MRE's: Not for Me.
Speaking of MRE's: Not for me, since it's the holiday season I'd love for all you military gals out there to email me your favorite holiday recipes at osugirl713@hotmail.com or put them on the blog yourself. Thank you to everyone who has been sending or posting recipes on there, but I'd love to see a lot more on there!
It's pretty chilly here today in Louisiana and our office is freezing. I think that our heater isn't working, but thank goodness I wore a semi-warm sweater today!
I'm reading the second Jen Lancaster book right now. My friend Kebi was sweet enough to buy and send it to me and I immediately started on it as soon as it came in. It's funny and I've had several laugh out loud moments, but I'm not sure if I laughed as much with this book as I did with her first book.
Anyone out there want to see the new movie Four Christmases as much as I do? I think it looks beyond hilarious and I really enjoy both Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. I told Sean we HAD to see it over Thanksgiving break, but we also talked about going to Vicksburg that weekend too, so I'm hoping we can fit in both of those things. Can you believe I haven't been to Mississippi yet? I've lived in Louisiana 11 months and have yet to visit Mississippi. I've meant to several times, but just never got around to it. I'm determined to get there before we leave though and up my states visited count to 30.
You know where I'd really love to go for the holidays? New York City! I've been there, but never during this time of year. I'd love to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in person. Visit Rockefeller Center when they put the tree up and browse all the shops with the cute Christmas displays. Maybe one of those days I'll be able to do that.
I finally completed my photo book on Saturday. I cannot wait to see it! In case you haven't had time to make yours yet, they've extended the deadline to make them until the 22nd of November. So if you haven't done it yet, then go do it! Shipping is only about $6.99 which I say is well worth it for a really neat gift for yourself or others.
Oh..and one more thing. Anyone want to give me any good stuffing recipes? Just email them to me if you would please!
Enjoy your Monday!

I Should Never See This at Breakfast
A man wearing a bathrobe that is. In a restaurant might I add. Sean and I decided to go out to breakfast this morning and hopped on over to DeRidder to enjoy the Waffle Shoppe. Hello French Toast, eggs and bacon! While eating my breakfast I people watched a bit and then saw the man who entered the restaurant wearing a robe, ski cap and sunglasses. Yet he could not manage to put on pants?
Awkward.
Extremely Awkward.
Then there was the smarmy guy who was Sara and I's cashier at Wal-Mart last night. Sara was buying food for Jagger and here's how that convo went.
Him: "Heh, heh, big night at home feeding the cats?"
Me: "Uh..no the dogs." (Thinking to myself, what a creepster and a jackass for assuming we have nothing better to do then feed our dogs)
Him: "Oh? What kind of dogs?"
Sara: "I have a Pom and she has a Min-Pin."
Him: "Min-Pin's are the worst dogs ever!"
I grab him by his ridiculous blue shirt and punch his lights out for talking bad about my dog.
End Scene.
Ok...so the very last action obviously wasn't true...but I considered it.
The rest of the night was punctuated by these actions.
Boomer and Jagger go out to walk
Boomer and Jagger chase each other around house
Sara and Melissa attempt to open wine with electric bottle opener.
Battery isn't charged enough... it gets stuck.
Boomer and Jagger are still chasing each other.
Sara and Melissa try to open bottle of wine again.
Another failure.
Boomer does number two on Sara's stairs.
Finally the wine is opened with the electric opener, a picture hook and a pair of pliers. Whew.
Enjoy Wine.
Boomer starts humping Jagger and then moves on to a stuffed toy.
I die of embarrassment. About 4 times.
So that's pretty much our evening. Hilarious might I add and I wish I had pics.
A trip to New Orleans might be on the horizon though.

I Almost Forgot to Blog!
Wow...time has just flown by today and I haven't even had time to blog.
Well...technically I did, but I was busy trying to perfect my free Snapfish Photo book, which I still haven't finished. Perhaps when I get home and have complete access to all my pictures. I didn't realize just how many pictures a 20 page album could hold and so I didn't upload enough of them that were good quality on my flash drive today.
Perhaps I can get that done tomorrow.
Ok...so my best friend Jess and I were talking last night about Pioneer Woman. You know the one with the awesome recipes? If you haven't heard of her, just venture over to the right side of my blog and click her link. Anyway.....she's in Oklahoma...as in she's living on a famous ranch in Oklahoma that is about 45 minutes away from my hometown and I never realized it until my friend mentioned her last name. Crazy no? All this time I could have been trying to finagle a dinner invitation from someone who lived such a short distance from me. Ok..so maybe that's a little crazy, but you catch my drift.
I think tonight I'm going to head over to Sara's new place and hang out with her. Sean should be doing some sort of airfield seizure today and into this evening so it gives me a good reason to get out of the house. I'm thiking perhaps some Thai food? Now that sounds good! Pad Thai is my absolute favorite. Anyone else a fan out there?
I hope that you guys didn't think I was whining yesterday in my blog about babies. It was more of a wistful post I suppose. I know I've mentioned this before but I do want to enjoy Europe without children for awhile, it's just that scary thoughts about deployments sometimes make me want to move that up. However, I know I can't live like that, so I'll just wait until I know the time is right for us as a couple to have a child.
I was sooo sick last night! I've been taking the same birth control for the last eight months or so, but at times it makes me very sick. I woke up last night around 1:00 a.m. and my stomach hurt so bad. Kind of how it feels when you have a stomach virus. Ok..TMI ahead, but I heaved a couple of times, but didn't actually throw-up. I ate a few bites of bread to settle my stomach and felt a little better, but this morning my stomach was so sore. I didn't go to bed on an empty stomach, which is when I take the pill, so I don't know what the problem was. It was awful though and now I'm scared to take the next pill. I cannot stand it if this happens two nights in a row. I literally got hardly any sleep last night because of it. Anyone else ever have this happen? Or do I just have the freaky reactions to things?
Well hope you guys have a great weekend! I'm not sure what I have planned for my weekend yet!

Babies on the Brain
Wow...I've been reading post after post lately about how people are pregnant.
I'm not jealous, in fact I'm very happy for everyone. Seems like there is a baby boom going on in the blog world right now.
Honestly, in my heart I don't feel like it's time for a baby for Sean and I yet. I really don't. Six months from now? Maybe. Year from now? Perhaps.
We are a little hesitant on when to start trying.
Do we start trying before a deployment? Just in case (Something I don't want to even think about)
Or do we start after?
Just because I'm not ready doesn't mean on days like this I don't want to have a baby really badly.
*sigh*
All in good time.

Just because I'm not ready doesn't mean on days like this I don't want to have a baby really badly.
*sigh*
All in good time.

Dear Taylor Swift: please stop doing live performances.
I've had a great morning so far. Banana Nut Bread is calling my name in the break room and a co-worker has some fresh sweet potatoes that she gave me. I'm so excited! I absolutely love sweet potatoes and I'm looking forward to baking a few of them. Maybe some sweet potato fries are in order too.
One of my best friends, Kebi, told me about this awesome deal that she saw on Oprah.
It's the Snapfish photo book and it's free! Just upload the 20 pics you want in it and wha la! Awesome present to yourself or family.
Here's the link.
I spent this morning making a Excel spreadsheet of Thanksgiving food and who was bringing what. Then I transferred that over to a nice letter that Sean could hand out to those that will be attending Thanksgiving at our home. He said everyone has been asking him what to bring, so I thought outlining what people had already volunteered for might help a bit in that department.
Sean and I are already beenarguing discussing what is going to be on our TV on Thanksgiving morning. Being a traditional type of gal and well..sometimes a bit of a diva, I'm insisting on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I wake up early for it and watch it every, single year. He's talking football pre-game. We do have more than one tv, but perhaps I can put one in the kitchen while I'm making dinner. Hmm......good thought on that one.
Did anyone watch the CMA's last night? I did until I passed out around 9:00. Can I just say I really enjoy Taylor Swift on the radio, but live she sounds awful? I've dismissed it at first as just a fluke, but after three or four times of listening to her live I've decided she's just not as good in person.
In the good news department I've already gotten three gifts on my Christmas list. I still have a lot to buy, but at least it's a start! Anyone else out there already shopping or already done completely?
Oh and thank you so much to Holly over at In Over My Active Head for this lovely award! Awards always make my day and this one was no exception!
Also go check out http://www.happylizzz.com/ for a great giveaway. I heard of it through Wandering DC, so be sure to go over and enter for the giveaway. It's a Target giftcard and a Starbucks giftcard. Who doesn't love either of those?
Enjoy the rest of your Thursday!

Friends....
I've really enjoyed my time spent here in Louisiana. I've seen many interesting things and tried some amazing food. Etouffee anyone? The only thing I've felt that was lacking in my Louisiana experience was some great friends.
I've never been one that's had trouble making friends. Sure, I can be shy sometimes, but still...I've never had a period of my life where I haven't found at least one friend. That is, not until I moved to Louisiana.
Although I really enjoyed my time in Houston with Sara and Lindsay, it made me sad in a way that I didn't have friends like them or like my friends back home in Oklahoma. If I can find friends that I mesh well with in a blogging setting, why can't it be that easy here?
Maybe it's because I don't have children and don't know many women here close to my age that don't. Maybe it's because I'm not really part of any groups here.
Don't get me wrong, there are a few girls here that I'm friendly with around here, but none that I'd call up and say, "Hey..want to hang out and do this?"
I'm really hoping and praying that when we get to Italy that I find at least one friend that I really click with.
So...thank you to all my blogging friends that come to my site to comment or just to read and thank you to my real-life friends that read this as well.
Also thank you to all the ladies that left comments yesterday. It made my day to read all of them and how supportive you guys were towards my husband and all military.
Now on to other things...like my lovely argyle sweater. Can I just say how much I love wearing it? I think it's my favorite sweater ever!
I tried this nail polish on Sunday while we were at Ulta and I'm regretting not buying it. I normally don't like dark colors on my fingernails, but I'll make an exception for this.
Look at this Christmas bag that I bought last year at Hobby Lobby when they were all on sale.
I was going through these the other day since I'm taking them to my parent's house to use for presents. I got so many cute bags from there last year. Maybe I'll still have time to stock up on after Christmas sales at Hobby Lobby and store that stuff at my parent's home for next year. Hmm.....
Ok...I have a PCSing question for you military gals out there. As you know, we have a Min-Pin that we are taking with us. Sean is insistent he be checked as baggage, I want him to ride in the cabin with us. We are flying AA to Baltimore and from there to Italy it's a military flight. Will they allow us to carry him on in the cabin on a military flight? If not, then I might as well go ahead and check him from the very beginning. Any advice or answers on that?
Last night was such fun for Sean and I. We went to go eat for lunch. He chose Ryan's Steakhouse (not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination) but I happily obliged since it was "his" day. Then we did a little shopping at the PX/Commissary. New Glamour for me! We got a few movies and some popcorn at Blockbuster and then went back home for some movie watching/cuddling in front of the TV. Of course Boomer had to join in....and in the middle at that. We rented Get Smart and I was suprised by how good it was! Very funny too. I haven't laughed that much at a movie in quite awhile. The second movie was The Business. Yawn. Weird sort of British characters. Not good at all. Sometime in between the two movies Sean manged to make pre-made Pillsbury cookies into rocks. Not even joking about that. I seriously thought I was going to break a tooth.
Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
