It's Been One of Those Days

It's only 1pm and my day is already craptastic! I hate days like this.

Basically the issue is my car. I love my car, I do, but I've had so many problems with it and it's only 3 years old.

In case some of you don't know Chevy Cobalts (which is what I have) have a defective power steering in the 2005-2007 models. It goes out without warning. It is currently being investigated, but no sign of a recall yet. So, since mine has this problem I get to pay for a new steering column, roughly 700 bucks, and hope they recall it so I can be reimbursed. It wouldn't be such an issue if I were in the States, but the fact I'm in Italy where Cobalts are not sold is difficult. Somehow I have to order the part I need from the States, but I haven't been successful with that so far.

Today I go to get my car inspected and I failed the inspection. Why? Because I have a crack in my windshield that is more than 6 inches long. I pointed out the fact to them that the crack was there last year and I still passed the inspection, but he said the regulations are different this year. Crap! He acted like I could just breeze down somewhere and get if fixed. Um..yeah maybe if I was Italian! I'm just so frustrated with the car right now.

On top of all that I woke up this morning and my left eye looked bloodshot. Evidently I'm having issues with my eye and my contacts again.

I'm ready for this day to be OVER!

Ugh, I feel for you. I had to deal with SO many car issues while there, and it is a massive pain. I hope it's not too difficult to get the parts and get everything fixed!

Yikes! I hate car issues! I get so stressed out. Whenever it is an issue with the car is always means lots of money, time and frustration.

There's nothing more frustrating than having car issues. Hopefully you can get it all taken care of. Hang in there!

Oh I know what you mean about car trouble and being in Vicenza! It wasn't easy then and I am sure time has not changed that! My friend at Camp Darby just got her windshield changed this week and I am sure you don't want to hear how much that cost! (250 Euros!)

Bummer buddy. Did you try bursting into tears when he told you about the windshield? Or saying "I'll crack you more than 6 inches?"

Hope tomorrow is better!

Are you going to look at going back to the USO? (Yes, I'm just now asking you this - I'm reading posts in reverse. I'm exhausted!)

Well, Autozone.com has free shipping to APO addresses if that helps at all. I hate car problems, too.
