My Day

Well...my day consisted of a few interesting tidbits.

1. I found a Cartier watch in the cupholder of the treadmill I was using. It was very pretty, but I did the nice thing and turned it into Lost and Found. In all honesty, I'd want someone to do the same if they found something nice of mine.

2. Went to the housing office with Sean to discuss our mold problem we are having in our apartment. See...against the north wall of our house we have our two bedrooms and one bathroom. All three of them are growing mold on the ceiling and the back wall. It's the worst in our bedroom. Yesterday I moved our wardrobe and found a ton of mold. I'm talking about two square feet of green mold. When the housing office called our landlord his response was that we weren't airing out the apartment properly. Um....I lived in Louisiana which is humid as all get-out and we NEVER had a mold problem. Pretty sure it's our crappily built apartment.

So...looks like I might be making a move while Sean is deployed. I'm not really stressed about it, just sort of a hassle.

2 weeks until I go to Oklahoma for Christmas!

Hopefully they can get you in a mold free place soon. And good for you doing the right thing. Hopefully whoever lost it will be able to pick it up soon.

I'm always a little nervous about handing over something valuable to lost and found... like how do I know they won't pocket it? Maybe I should have more faith in folks. I'm sure the owner will be very appreciative. Good karma for you.

Ewwwwwwww!!!! I can't believe the landlord is trying to blame mold on you -- that's crappy! Hopefully you find a gorgeous new place that makes the hassle of moving worthwhile.

Yay going home for Christmas! I've been on tons of trips home, and I only moved a few states away -- I can't imagine how much you must want to get back there. I'm really glad you're going. :)

Sounds like a move is definitely in your near future. What an asshole of a landlord! Good luck with that!
And yes, good for you for giving the watch back. It seems like such a simple thing to do, but it doesn't always happen. Hopefully the owner will remember that she left it there!

Keep on that landlord about that mold issue! I would think that his inability to fix that would be suffice for you to move out!

Eww that is sooo gross! We had mold in our basement after it flooded during the summer and it was NOT pretty. Keep on the landlord about it and if worse comes to worse at least maybe then you can move and find somewhere better to live!

I have a feeling they will never solve your mold problem and you'll have to make a tough decision. So sorry you've had so many issues. If it was post housing you might have a fighting chance.

I have lost 2 i-pods because people weren't honest. And I really wish someone had been. Good for you.

GROSS!! I can tell you that in the mean time you can spray hydrogen peroxide on mold and it will start to go away. Although, it sounds like your landlord SUCKS and I hope the housing office gets this worked out in your favor.

And WOHOO for going home soon!!!

Hope it get's taken care of sooner rather than later! And the plus side is that you might someplace you like even better!

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about your Landlord & especially about the mold!

Way to go for turning in the the watch!!! Major karma points for you!! I think you should get bonus points considering it's the Christmas season. Lol :)

I'm soooo excited you get to go home soon! Kevin and I are planning a trip down to Oklahoma soon-ish too.

Yikes! I hope they decide to do something!!! You should call in a mold testing company, and they would be sued if they don't fix it for you.

Hey!! We're headed to Ok for X-mas...maybe we could meet up for lunch! :)

I have had that happen in every crap place I've lived. The last was the worst, when I moved out the charged me for it! Even after I told them time and time again...especially for my bathroom with no fan. So unless they plan to pay the electric bill they better clean it up!

Ugh! That mold problem sounds awful! I hope that if you have to move, it goes smoothly! I'll probably be moving while P is gone, but I haven't decided yet.
