Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend has been great. I've been so excited to have Sean back and he's been cooking up a storm! To be honest I haven't really cooked for myself since he's been gone. I've mostly been existing on cereal, microwave meals and sandwiches...yeah, not the best meal plan. Anyway, yesterday Sean made us burgers complete with mushrooms and cheese on mine, home-made macaroni and cheese with cream cheese, Velveeta and green chilies. Last but not least we had fried potatoes with onions and peppers in them. Simply scrumptious! I'll be the first one to say that I got lucky marrying a man who can cook...AND cook well.

Other than that we've just been watching some baseball (mainly Cubs) and finally watching Entourage Season 4. We ordered it about a month ago and it came in while Sean was gone. Like the good wife that I am, I refrained from watching it until he got home.

My online shopping sprees have not gone unnoticed though. Sean went through our USAA homepage and the first words out of his mouth? "What all did you buy at Forever21, Amazon, Old Navy and Target?" Oops! I did tell him though that I got him a present from Amazon, I'm not sure that took the heat off me though.

It appears that the short months we have left together before the deployment may be cut down by another month. Sean has gone unpromoted for the last year and it's more than high-time that he should be promoted. His 1st Sergeant noticed this as well and and wants to send Sean to WLC so that he can get his next rank. That means he'll be away for an entire month for that. I'm hoping he can do that in June, as my mom and brother will be here for two weeks during that time and so it wouldn't be quite as lonely. If he does it in July then we'll miss out on block leave and our trip to Ireland will have to be put on the back-burner, which we really don't want to happen.

Well, I hope you ladies all had a fab weekend! What did you end up doing?

Can your hubby come teach mine how to cook?!?

Since I don't know your husband ranks, you need WLC to rank up to get your E6. If he is not E5 then it doesn't have to be done. Most NCOs like to get it done sooner I guess because they made my husband do it before they even thought about promoting him to E5.

I don't know if this information helps but hopefully you don't miss out on another month.

YAY for cooks!!!

Yes, I am so lost without my hubby around --- he wants to go to Culinary School after the army and I'm JONESING for his meals alllll the time.

This weekend was fabulous! I got rid of a nasty cold and had NO homework to do as there is no more grad school anymore!

I think when you two get home I'm sending Matt to Sean's Culinary School :) The mac and cheese sounds yummy, I've never had it with cream cheese before.

Been babysitting this weekend, Bailey, Audrey, Levi, and my mom's friend's daughter Sydney. After shuffling four kids through baths and bedtime, definitely no more than two kids for me!

That's great on sean's promotion. As you know because of all the deployments here many enlisted guys haven't been making rank because they can't get to their schools. All of the battalions are sending people everywhere to get guys promoted. And even weirder is that I realized no one we've known since Mark and I met have PCS'd except for 1 person! Now that the deployment is over its a mass exodus. Some people we've known for years just moved. Poof.

I wish you were here this weekend too. It was fun. We didn't do uite as much as you and I did because the other girl is 18 weeks pregnant, but we still walked our butts off. Ate at Cafe du monde twice. Our hotel was awesome. But yet again I was ready to leave the city.

Good news about family coming to visit! I bet they're excited!!

seriously...I think I always eat frozen meals, cereal, and sandwiches! Life of a single girl! One of these days, I'll start eating like a responsible adult! :)

Do you remember a long time ago (like around New Year's) when I told you that Sean reminded me of my husband's cousin? Well I finally found a picture of Joey and it's up on my blog on the post entitled Vacation All I Ever Wanted. Sean's obviously a lot younger than Joey, but I still think they look a little bit alike!Check it out and tell me what you think!

Good luck with the promotion! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get to go to Ireland!

And I'm jealous about your man cooking for you! Mine considers putting fries in the oven or waffles in the toaster cooking. :) Ahh, well. It's a good thing I love to cook. :)
