As some of you know, I've been wanting to make photography my "official job". I still have a few steps to go before I get to that point, but one of the steps is creating a name for my business.
A lot of people use their last names. Somehow, I'm not sure my last name is what one would think of as a plesant experience with photography. I try not to mention my last name a lot, but to illustrate my point I'll tell you it's Payne. So I'm thinking Payne Photography isn't the best route to go.
So that means I need to come up with something marketable, classy and creative. I'm at a total loss right now though.
If any of you have any suggestions, feel free to e-mail me!
My title today refers to the sight that greeted me in the in/out processing center today. A woman walked by with her two children, in the shortest shorts I've EVER seen. They honest-to-God showed the bottom of her butt cheeks. Excuse me, but when is that EVER appropriate? I couldn't believe it!
And now, without further ado, the latest purchases from my online shopping addiction!
Both are from Target. It's a good thing Sean is coming back this weekend, or else my addiction might have gotten worse!
Tonight at the USO I'm making green enchiladas and rice. It's one of my favorite meals to make and I have a feeling the guys will like it. If not, then that's just that much more for me! Currently we are watching Walk the Line. I LOVE that movie. Reese Witherspoon is just amazing in this film. Sean loves this movie too. In fact, I'll let you in on a little secret, he's told me he's cried watching this movie. Never when he's watched it with me, but he has admitted it. Isn't that just the sweetest thing? Well...at least I think it is!

oooo! those shoes are CUTE :)
Oooh drooling over those shoes!!! So cute! And I adore Walk the Line. It might be one of my all time favorites. Z hates watching it with me because I sing along. I am so annoying!
Um have you thought about using your maiden name for the photog biz? Or what about your hometown, or someplace that means something to you?
Oh my word, I have to get those shoes! Both of them! Sooooo cute!
I'm kinda in the same boat as you as far as trying to find a professional name. I love my almost-new name, but I've already been writing professionally under my maiden name. However, I've always loved my middle name, so I'm going to professionally be Jessica Lynn. And that's it. That way I don't have to give out my new last name (I feel uneasy about it more so since he's in the military).
Anywho, there's my two cents!
I love those shoes, I can't believe they're from Target! I'll have to check them out.
You could just use some sort of descriptive professional word for your business. Maybe do some research to see what similar types of popular photogs call their business.
Love the shoes!!!
Okay and that's just gross seeing people wear clothing that shows off a little more than I wanted to see!!
Those shoes are so cute. I really like the tans ones!
And yikes with the shorts. I always have to shake my head when kiddos walk around in clothes that would make me blush to wear.
1. LOVE those shoes.
2. LOVE walk the line
I'm not feeling terribly creative right now.. I'll see if something pops into my head as for a fun photography biz name!
Those shoes are darling!
Shame on that woman walking in like that! How does she expect to instill any sort of sense into her children if she is walking out in public like that??
Cute note - I'm listening to Johnny Cash "Ring of Fire" right now as I'm typing this!
I LOVE those shoes! amazing! :D
Shorts that short are NEVER appropriate. I recently saw two high school aged girls JOGGING down Main Street in them. WHAT?! No mam. Go home and cover your butt.
By the way... like everyone else, I LOVE the shoes! Cute!! :)
i LOVE the shoes!!!
and about the shorts...there is a time and a place for shorts that short....and its in the bedroom...thats it!!!
i love my shorts, but they at least cover up my bottom half
Ditto x the 10 "I love the shoes" above! When I read the shorts comment and then saw the image of shoes I had a horrible visual of the kind of shoes that might have gone along with those short shorts! lol.
I have one for ya, last night in my exercise class someone wore their PJ bottoms! I kid not.. they were super too small, but I investigated and most def flannel PJ bottoms.
Super cute shoes! :) Especially the red pair!
ok...butt cheeks in public are never ok. I don't care if you have Heidi Klum's body...they just aren't!! If you're in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, then MAYBE...But seriously...that lady needs to cover those up! I'd be scarred!
And the shoes...OMG!! I'm going to Target after work to see if I can find a pair!!! SO CUTE!
Cute shoes! I love Walk the Line. I was given it as a gift, and didn't watch it forever. I watched it twice when I first did!
Good luck with the name... I'm not sure I have a lot of suggestions, but I'll see what I can think of!
I've been working on a photography business name lately too! Great minds, great minds....
Love the shoes! You are a braver woman than I am for those heels!
I plan on using my first and middle name. Katie Elizabeth Photography.
I love Walk the Line!!!
Yeah, using your name probably isn't the best option, "It's gonna hurt having my pictures taken w/you?!?!" Those are some very lovely shoes, I was just on Target's website and I don't remember seeing them, must have overlooked them searching for some black heels. Have fun w/Walk the Line (never seen it), green enchiladas and rice!
I love the soundtrack for Walk the Line, but I'm not a huge fan of the movie itself. I think because I hyped it up so much before I saw it that I was a little let down.
I just want your closet please?!?!?
Mine only has cute workout clothes, pretty much nothing else.
I love the shoes! They are so cute!
I love the shoes! I'm also unihibited while husband is gone and find it easier to buy things(hey, we ladies need to occupy ourselves somehow!)
I'm horrible with coming up with creative anything. I have a hard enough time with my blog post titles! :P
I had a girl come to one of my classes in shorts that small. I mean, she has great legs, but dang! And they weren't jean shorts, but more like "sweat-pant-looking" ones that were loose and that didn't do her any good either. I kinda feel bad for the kids...
Good luck on figuring out the name to your photo studio. Maybe think of things that you like taking photos of, write them down, and branch off of ideas from there.
