If You Can't Say Something Nice....

First up, if you haven't seen the new awsomely bad Etsy Items post then please look at the post below. I promise you don't want to miss it.

Now..on to the good stuff.

I blog to vent, to voice my opinions, frustrations and happy times. I blog because I like the awesome group of military and non-military women that I've met since I've been blogging.

I do NOT blog so that I can get comments like this:

"So Toby WAS NOT the jerk and low life that so many of you said he was. I hate when people jump to conclusions and say bad things about people when they don't even know what is said. Not many artists go to places for the troops like Toby does,Toby Doesn't get paid for going over there he does it on his own. So all you others who bad mouthed him are terrible people for saying what you did. I don't care if he only stayed 10 minutes, he came and he performed, be thankful for what you get."

I have to say one thing about this above comment. I think its great Toby Keith does a tour for troops, but if you think I or anyone attending the concert should have been grateful for ten minutes of Toby Keith then you are sadly mistaken. Maybe people like you should be grateful for my husband and all the other military guys who defend YOUR freedom.

I don't care if you don't agree with me, that's fine. I respect different opinons as long as they are put out in a respectful way. I don't expect every single person to agree with what I have to say, but if you don't agree then please don't personally attack me OR my readers who choose to comment. I and all my readers have the right to say whatever we want to say BUT if you're not going to say something nice or respectful then don't put it in a comment. If you're really that bent on saying nasty things then e-mail it to me. Oh..and if you don't like what you read, then don't come to my blog! Problem Solved!

I really don't want to make this blog private, as I know there are a lot of people out there that read this and don't comment and I want to keep it open for them.

Sorry for the rant girls, I'm just tired of disrespectful, rude people.

I'm so glad you tell it like it is! Why should the troops be grateful that Toby Keith allowed them 10 minutes? How would she feel if the troops only gave 10 minutes to protecting her freedom? Instead they give their lives, they give years and years, they give up their families... oh don't even get me started!

I love that you just told it like it is! Way to do it!

This might explain why I've gotten MULTIPLE hits lately on my "Toby Keith" label.

Hmmm ....

As someone who is outside of the "military world" I can say that TB should've been up there performing until he was ready to drop dead from exhaustion. Your men (and women) are giving their lives so that people like Toby Keith have the freedom to do things like make insane amounts of money. I can understand why your pissed...I'd be too.

GO GIRL! I agree with everything you said, and I agree with J.L.S.--"Why should the troops be grateful that Toby Keith allowed them 10 minutes? How would she feel if the troops only gave 10 minutes to protecting her freedom?" SO true!

Not to mention the fact that you put a disclaimer on your post about how you weren't sure if what you heard was correct or not, and you blatantly said that Toby himself did not say those things. Ugh... Sorry some people are such jerks.

Sounds like a crazed Toby Keith fan. I'm sorry you got drive-by-commented by one.

Amen, sister. Like I think I mentioned before, the members of the Armed Forces are there fighting for our country and protecting Toby's right to perform. The lucky one here is Toby Keith...not the troops.

You said what you heard, and then you said what happened. I think we were all relieved. What's wrong with telling the truth? Gees!

If you can't say anything nice, come sit by me :)

Hahaha. People are a bit over the top again. I don't think that Toby Keith would really be so offended by your post so why should any of his loyal fans? Mind you I love country music and Toby Keith, but doing the right thing for the wrong reasons isn't always that great for your image. Singing for the troops...AWESOME! Doing it because you get good press...not so much. Who knows though. Maybe he has an odd camo phobia. ;)

Yup that's my philosophy as well. I read stuff I don't agree with and sometimes things upset me, but I that's when I hold my tongue! It's when somebody else attacks my friends that my claws come out and I speak up!
