Well, Sean and I made our decision. We weren't trying to really rush into anything, but with him taking this class over the next month which meant he had zero time to go look at more options and us wanting to settle in, we decided on the apartment.
Honestly minus zero grass, I think it's one of the better options I saw in the way of apartments. I don't know how they do private rentals at other OCONUS locations, but here they have computers that show all the info and pictures of your options.
I do think we'll be happy and I feel confident about the safety of the location that we have chosen. So, we start pre-negoiations tomorrow and hopefully we can get settled into our place in the next few weeks.
Now with that out of the way I can tell you guys about the most hilarious thing I've seen so far in Italy.
Italian Wheel of Fortune. Seriously, I wish you guys could watch this, it's non-stop laughs. Not because they are trying to be funny, but because it's so ridiculous you can't help but laugh.
Here are a few reasons why:
1. Their equivalent of Vanna White looks like one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends and at random times they show camera angles, pretty much looking up whatever dress she has on that night. Also at certain times they request her to break into impromptu dances.
2. One of the contestants the other night had a little laser gun that he kept shooting at the wheel whenever his opponents were spinning. Yeah...I have no idea.
3. The catergory for one of the puzzles the other night? Uno hit per George Michael. No I am NOT joking when I say that.
At night we've been renting DVD's from the library and enjoying some seasons of shows we've never seen before. So far we have LOVED Damages with Glenn Close. It's this awesome lawyer-esque show and I cannot wait for the second season, which is currently playing on FX. We recently started watching the first season of Six Feet Under. I find it odd, but like it for some reason.
Last night I convinced Sean to go see Bride Wars with me at the theater on-post. I thought it was a cute film, although a little predictable. I did however, love whatever Kate Hudson happened to be wearing throughout the entire movie. Sean was convinced before we went that he'd be the only guy there in a movie theater "full of chicks", his words not mine. Obviously there were many men there with their wives and oddly we saw three single guys leave after the movie together sans girl. I'm not saying I didn't expect guys to go to a "chick flick" I just didn't think I'd see three guys all going together. I have to admit it was kind of amusing.
Well, I need to catch up on reading some of the many blogs I've missed the last couple of days.
Ciao!

Yay for the decision! =)
Italian Wheel of Fortune. Wow, that HAS to be funny! You have to love the Europeans!
Europe can be so odd sometimes huh?? Congrats on the apartment! It will be so nice to get settled.
Have a great week!
Congrats on the house decision :)
I'm with you on "Damages"! LOVE IT!!
Congratulations on deciding on a place!
Isn't Italian Wheel of Fortune THE BEST?!?!? When I was little we used to watch it while we were there for the summer, and we would just crack up over the show.
There is another game show that is super funny, but I can't think of the name of it...something Stars...it may not be on any more.
I know isn't that hilarious! How embarrassing!!
And yup, I'm a fellow Okie ;)
Congrats on the apartment!
And the Italian Wheel of Fortune sounds hilarious :)
I think the apartment sounds great! I can't wait to see pictures.
Ital Wheel of Fortune sounds like a blast! I wonder if it's on Youtube...
;)
I'm glad y'all found a place to live!
Oh my lord! I want to see Italian Wheel of Fortune! It sounds awesome!
Yay for making a decision!! I can't wait to see pictures when you are all settled in.
the apartment sounds like the way to go. Hopefully you'll be settled soon!
If your watching dvds, have you checked out Dexter? Kinda creepy, kinda funny, pretty dark, but excellent.
The second story apartment thing does get a little old when taking out the pup, but it's going to be fine. It sounds like a wonderful choice and that you'll be happy. Jagger misses boomer too. We're boring to him. I was laughing my butt off the other night walking Jag thinking about the night that we walked the dogs looking for fish heads and the dogs started circling around our legs. we fell down laughing so hard. Good times. I've thought about a picture a week post for leesville: broke down school buses. You know what I mean.
How exciting!! Can't wait to see pictures when you move in!
Congrats on the apartment! I'm not so sure the hubby would go with me to see Bride Wars, he'll watch it once it comes out on DVD, but not in the theater...
Maybe those guys were there on a dare. Or lost a bet. Or were drunk.
Congrats on picking a place!
Game shows from other countries are so bizarre and wacky sometimes.
Ha. Living abroad has it's funny "perks."
Foreign shows are the best. I loved the Australian version of Deal or No Deal. I was also obsessed with the French Idol type show.
Six Feet Under is by far my most favorite series ever! There are 5 seasons..make sure you watch them all!
