Time for another Christmas related post!
I've compiled a list of some Christmas facts about my family, feel free to share some of your own in the comments.
1. I believed in Santa until I was in the 2nd grade and our teacher asked when we stopped believing in Santa. Needless to say it was a rough day.
2.One of our family traditions is to open one present on Christmas Eve. It's always new PJ's.
3. At one of my Grandma's we never have a sit down dinner. Instead we all bring snacks, it's one of my favorite traditions we have. My Grandma makes homemade candy too. It's heavenly!
4. One of my most memorable Christmas gifts was a Barbie dreamhouse. Second to that would be a horse.
5. My family watches National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation every year. We've watched it so much my Dad and I have most of the lines memorized and like to throw them out at family events.
6. When I was little I always wanted a White Christmas. That ended one year when we got one and we had to cancel Christmas Eve at my Grandmother's because the snow was too deep.
7.One of my favorite Christmas treats is Mexican Pinwheels, they are the perfect appetizer. One of these days I'll share the recipe with you.
8.Last year I had Christmas ringtones for every person on my phone. To say I love Christmas music is an understatement.

On my Mom's side we ALWAYS have gumbo for Christmas lunch/dinner.
On my Dad's side of the family we tend to open gifts from the family on Christmas Eve and save all the gifts from "Santa" for Christmas Day.
We open 1 present every Christmas eve as well. We always watch White Christmas the night before and still to this day do stockings for Santa.
Love National Lampoons Christmas..classic. L and I open one present on X-mas Eve, it started as his idea and now I look forward to it.
Like Mexican wheels with Tapatio sauce?
Those are awesome!!! Okay, you know I want that recipe!!! It sounds YUMMY! We open one present each on Christmas Eve as well, but we never know what it will be...
My family has the tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve. Surprise, Surprise, it's always some brand new cozy PJs to wear that night. My mom had the same tradition when she was a girl and I'm sure I'll pass it on to my own kids some day.
Watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation the other night at a friend's house and thought of ya the whole time!
We do the PJ's thing too!
We play yahtzee every year while drinking heavily.
We cook for a week to feed about 200 people in a party. I voted for mexico this year but was overuled.
We watch all sorts of old christmas movies: miracle on 34th (hate it), white christmas, the santa clause.
I still believed in Santa in 4th grade, but I had a little sister. Everyone in my class laughed at me because I believed....I cried.
Em believed a long time too, and questioned it this year and confirmed it this year. Made me kind of sad. Maybe telling them that Santa liked beer and chips and salsa was a giveaway?
Second grade?! What was that teacher thinking?! I seriously still believed in Santa until the 5th grade and then my aunt kinda burst my bubble.
Growing up we always had the tradition of going to my Grandpa's on my Dad's side on Xmas eve and then the actual day rotated every year between my Dad's mom and my Mom's parents. That always made things fun because I got three Christmas' every year!
I have absolutely no memory of when I learned that Santa = Mama.
Our family does our big dinner and our gifts on Christmas Eve, then wake up to stockings and Santa presents on Chrismas Morning, eat left overs all day and go to a movie.
Probably my favorite tradition is lining the walkway and side walk with luminaries made out of paper lunch bags (with our attempt at snowflakes cut into the sides)and a candle inside. They are beautiful...even more so if we have snow.
I love hearing about people's traditions, thanks for sharing!
