A New Love Interest

First of all I want to start by telling all of you about a couple of giveaways. Unfortunately..I am unable to post the pretty pics of all the super-nifty things you can win, but I'll provide the links.

Up first: My friend and former travel buddy Sara is giving away Pink Sugar perfume. It sounds heavenly! Head on over and enter.

Next up is Life of the Wife and you have choices of what you want on her giveaway. One option is a year subscription to the Crossfit Journal and your other option is a sweet Dior makeup giveaway.

On to my favorite newlywed...Misadventures of a Newlywed. She's giving away the cutest Lily Pulitzer stationary and you even have your choice between two.

Last but certainly not least is Make Mine a Mojito, she's giving away some fab looking brownies for Valentine's Day.

Whew...now that's a ton of giveaways!

In other news, I went to the electric company to get that switched over into Sean and I's name.

I've never been so nervous in my life.

See, our translator, who Sean and I have ridden with two times before, is a nice lady. Today though since she has me and another guy turning off his electricity, she had to run to the bank with him while I was in the electric office with the guy who works there.

Alone.

And I don't speak the language.

She told me as she was leaving, "Oh he knows a few words of English, you'll be in very capable hands."

Thank god he and I were able to communicate.

It was scary folks! My mission here is obvious. I MUST learn Italian and quickly!

Oh and by the way while I was waiting I saw a ton of people wearing denim. That made me feel better about jeans I was sporting.

Ok..so I still look like an American. It was quite obvious by the way everyone was looking at me in the electric office that I wasn't fooling them. I was hoping they were just looking at my super-cute red coat from Forever 21, but I doubt that was it. I plan on getting some pieces to blend in, but I haven't made it to the mall yet and there's only so much I can pull off with the limited clothing options in my suitcase.

Speaking of that, I'm tired of being reduced to a small number of options. Living out of a suitcase for almost two months really blows.

In other news, I think I'm in love.

With the Smart Cars. I mean how cute is this?

Everytime I see one of them I tell Sean that I want one. I do! I just don't want to spend the money to get one. I can just picture myself on a Tuscan road in my sporty little yellow Smart Car.

A girl can dream right?

Ciao!

I've been living out of a suitcase for a week at home and I thought it was getting annoying. I can't imagine a month! Guess you gotta just start getting creative with what you've got.

I appreciated the encouraging comment btw. Thanks! :)

I love Smart Cars!! I remember seeing my first one--love at first sight!

Make sure you leave a comment on the giveaway post, that's how I'm doing entries. I think I have 4 exams next week, so my brain will be pretty fried and has no guarantees for memory. :)

I imagine the smart cars are necessary over there. They're so cuute! There are a few over here as well, and I'm seriously scared for them! The rest of the Arizonans love their big ass trucks and SUVs...those smart cars don't stand a chance!

The language will come, I promise!

Yesterday at Ikea I was asked if I was German. Sweet! It took my a year and a half to blend in right, but I did it!

Every time I have to park my "gigantic" Altima, I want a Smart car so bad! We play a game with them, like slug bug, but with flicks!

I hope you get all of your clothes soon! I bet Smart Cars make more sense over in Europe. Since they are so small, I would be afraid to drive them over here. I think the Mini Cooper is as small as I will ever get, and even sometimes I am still afraid people don't see me driving!

haha, cute car!

I think you can get free Rosetta Stone language tutorials through the Military. I would have your husband look into it. It would help speed up the language learning process and then you can practice it on the locals! =)

I love the smart cars too! You will be so much more capable once all of this apartment stuff is taken care of. You should be so proud to be able to handle things despite language and culture barriers. All of these experiences will make you feel like a super woman later on, I bet!

That smart car does look so cool and European. I'd be scared to drive it in America though, haha!

I've seen some of the smartcars around here and they are so tiny! They look so funny next to some big 18 wheeler truck!

Oh yay more giveaways I didn't know about! Thanks for the update on that!

Also can you use Sean's AKO for rosetta stone to learn Italian?

Oh I can so see you in your little Smart Car; windows down, shades on and giving a little wave to the passersby! Or maybe flipping off the jerk who cut you off :)

Reminds me of that trip to Tulsa with Gina and Nikki and you sticking your head out the window of her Jeep yelling profanities and flipping off that convenience store clerk who locked us out of the store. Haha, good times

I hope your things arrive soon and you can stop living out of your suitcase!

UGH! I'm living out of a suitcase myself, but two months!? I'll only have to do it for a month. However, I'm in Mississippi...it's definitely no Italy.

I've missed your blog...but I'm back to blogging myself now!

I *lurve* smart cars! Every time I've been in Europe I have been obsessed with taking pictures of them! TOO CUTE!

I would be too afraid to drive one in the US, with all the big-ass SUVs everywhere. But they're incredibly perfect for little tiny European city streets. And I love how they park them two-to-a-spot in a normal parallel parking spot. That only adds to the cute factor!
