Insecurities

I'm sure many of you out there struggle with insecurities like I do. I constantly struggle not to compare myself to other people, not just physically, but in other aspects too. She's a better cook than me, she's smarter than me, she speaks 3 languages fluently, etc. I hate that I do it, but I do and I don't know that it's improving.

The thing that sets me off is that people that are close to me know this about me. They know I'm insecure, they know what triggers me to feel that way yet they continue to say things that they know push my buttons and make the whole insecurity issue rear it's ugly head. I mean seriously? Is it that hard if you really think those thoughts just to keep them to yourself?

Is that too much to ask?

Sorry for the total Debbie Downer post ladies, I'm a bit more emotional than usual because it's that time of the month.

Sunshine and rainbows returning tomorrow!

Honey, I do the same thing and it's a constant struggle to NOT do it. I swear it's a girl thing. I always just remind myself that I rock and everyone that loves me loves me no matter what. Hopefully tomorrow will be better! :)

I think its natural for everyone at some point or other to have those moments where they compare themselves to other people but think about it this way...this means that some girls are looking at you on days and wishing they had your qualities.

I could have written this post myself. There is a certain person in my life that does the same thing to me and for the life of me, I can't understand why. I just do my best to rise above it and remind myself that I do have good qualities and am a good person. Those people are trying to bring you down, don't let them!

Don't worry, we all do it. I totally understand, because the person who does it the worst for me is my older sister. Someone who should be there and have my back, actually triggers most of my issues when we're arond each other.

Don't worry about it being a downer, we all have our times where we feel like that! Because we all know you rock, and are always willing to listen when you're having a rough go of things. :)

I feel ya. We all do that. I've been having a hard time recently with this exact thing. So yeah, you're not alone!

I am the same way. And I have a huge guilty conscious on top of it. I have a certain MIL who knows both of these things, and uses them both to get her way with things.
Some people just make life miserable huh?

I am right there with ya! I always try to put back in my head that at some point someone has thought that way about me and one of my qualities. :)

I think everyone has at least one insecurity! I know every time I walk into a new group or meet new people. I'm thinking Geez, I suck compared to her!

So don't worry, it's not just you having those same thoughts.

My friends will do that to me a lot. I'm not if they realize it or not, but it bothers me so much. I wish there was some magical cure to fix insecurity issues.

Im laughing right now because of your last comment. Hubby can always tell when it is THAT time of the month waay before I mention it because he says I'm completely a different person b/c I get so emotional and I am usually just the opposite!

I know exactly how you feel! I think a lot of us have insecurities...

If these people close to you are poking at your insecurities, than they're not good friends!! You've got some wonderful qualities and no one should make you feel otherwise.

I deal with a Facebook friend who I don't know extremely well always saying her life is perfect and her husband is this amazing man, etc. I start to wonder if my life is not perfect or if I just don't go overboard sharing my feelings. I would like to think I have a wonderful life with my husband, family, new puppy, etc. but there are always down days. There was been alot of down days since moving to Germany. You probably feel the same in Italy.
