Things Are Looking Up

I have some good news regarding my job. I still haven't gotten to talk to Sean about it, BUT the new director is now here and she can't stand the guy that is here as much as the rest of us. She and I have already talked about my schedule and me wanting to quit because my schedule was changed and other things...and she told me she had no problem working weekends and she and the other new person working would do their best to support me and my schedule needs for this deployment.

However...I have yet to discuss with her me wanting to go home for Christmas or needing time of during the summer, so I'll just say I'm staying here at the USO....for now.

In other news and not the good kind...I've messed up my right foot. I think I did it when I walked in flip-flops three days straight while I was in Naples. I'm thinking it's a tendon and it's so bad at times that I limp. If it doesn't get better in a few days I have a feeling I'm going to have to pay a visit to the doctor. So let's all keep our fingers crossed that it gets better, shall we?

Thank you everyone who stuck around for three days of pictures. I appreciate it. If you are interested in seeing more just let me know and I'll email the link you when I get them all edited.

Enjoy your Thursday!

That's great she's working around your weekend schedule! Hopefully she'll be that understanding when it comes to Christmas! Especially if you're going to be alone at Christmas!

Sorry about your foot but it looks like you had a great time!

At least some temporary good news and relief on the job front.

I did the exact same thing to my foot when in Cali earlier in the summer. Walked way to much in flip flops. Aparently it is a pretty common occurance down there, "Flip Flop Foot". Mine eventually got better but it took awhile. Hope yours heals up quickly.

1. Why wouldn't you be able to go home for Christmas or in the summer!?!

2. I did the same thing to my foot walking around in Rome for 4 days in flip flops and then AGAIN in Lake Como. Stay off it as much as you and the pain will go away in a few days. I was limping as well!

That is good news! What a relief, at least for now.

Sorry about your foot. Take it easy as much as you can. I somehow messed up my elbow yesterday...while taking a nap. Yes, I'm that uncoordinated.

Glad your new boss understands your scheduling needs. That is definitely a step in the right direction.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that they let you off for Christmas and the Summer. I hope your foot heals up soon.

What a relief that your new boss has some sense -- I'm hoping things work out with the time you need off. During deployment I think it will be better to have a job, and a bit more structure to your time.

Rest that foot! Def sounds like you may have strained a tendon or something. Happens to me when I jump rope.
