Commissary Woes and Stripper Poles

Got you with the title didn't I? I knew that'd get your attention.

Anywho...I went to the commissary today and was sorely disappointed. I went to get some items for these delish cookie/brownies that I saw on Brown Eyed Baker(check my sidebar for the link). The recipe called for bittersweet chocolate (which the commissary did not have) Nor did they have pitas that I looked for OR spinach that I needed to make a Green Monster. At first glance this isn't a bad commissary, but then when you start looking for things it's obvious there is a lot lacking. I think I'm going to have to make a list and then go to the commissary manager to have her order what I want.

On to the stripper poles. As discussed in a previous post I mentioned I wanted a stripper pole for exercise purposes. Yes, I do mean exercise purposes and not that I'm practicing for amateur night. I'm still thinking of getting one, but I'm wondering if you guys have heard which ones are the best? I have Shelia Kelley's S Factor workout and in turn she also sells poles, but I know there are a lot of other brands out there too. So....if you've heard anything then let me know.

That's hilarious! I've told Justin I really want to do that stripper workout- tell me how it goes!

I bet sean is thrilled. I'm pretty sure you lived in Podunk too long!hahaha

That sucks when the commissary doesn't have what you need. Hopefully the manager will order stuff.

I just took a pole dancing class for my future sister in laws bachelorette party last weekend. That is a TOUGH workout! My legs were sore from squatting and doing other things. Let me know if you find a poll; I"m sure my fiance would LOVE to buy me one!

Hahahaha nice! Be sure to let us know how that workout goes.

I'm sorry your commissary is lacking. Hopefully, they'll order the stuff you need.

well I actually have a stripper pole in my bedroom...i guess you could say it was for exercise purposes ( haha)

I got mine off bachelorette.com it was $150

I would recommend the one that screws into the ceiling..NOT one that just adjusts and grips the ceiling and floor. I have had no problem with mine...i could hang on it and jump on it and it wont budge because it is in the ceiling!

i love mine!

I would bust my head open with a stripper pole lol. The grocery area here is the same way they hardly have any of the goods I can get back home. Makes me sad :)

While I can't help much with bittersweet chocolate (those cookies do look delicious btw, saw them yesterday.) Our commissary has frozen pitas but no fresh ones. And as far as I've been able to tell when we do have spinach it is in a bag. Worth a shot. Lol.

I wonder if the BX carries those poles? I mean, since they always have what we need and all. :)

I will have to ask a friend -- she got one for her hubby for R&R as a surprise! hahaha. :)

And no, by "friend" I don't mean "me" ahahah. Although my husband did admit he was slightly jealous of his buddy...!

I would totally try a stripper pole work-out. I think it could be a lot of fun (and maybe a little embarrassing as well)

I love shopping at the commissary because of the prices, but hate it when they don't have something I really, really want. My best friend did a stripper pole workout once, and although it was a good workout, the poor girl ended up with bruises all over. Have fun! :)

LOL that's too funny. My friends actually used to have a stripper pole in their living room. I'm glad they took it down, although I never was on it.

I'm with you! The commissary is great, but not even close to some of the grocery stores back in the states! I can't wait to grocery shop back at home when we visit!

The stripper pole workout is SO FUN, and killer exercise!! Check it out at www.sfactor.com - they have like seven locations around the country. You'll love the way it makes you feel - confident, sexy and empowered!

The commissary and BX drive me crazy! My first experience with an overseas commissary completely changed the way I cooked. I was used to making up menus for the week, then a grocery list, then heading to the store. When we moved to Okinawa, I found I had to make a list of "suggested meal ideas" and see what the commissary had, then work from there. Ugh. Trying to make meals for company made me insane!

And don't even get me started on the BX. I won't even go in one in the states out of principle. My blood pressure just can't take the stress! Ha! :D

Informative content, In bachelor party you can drink all night but between the beer and the strippers, wouldn't it be fun to have a few bachelor party games such as Despedida Soltero.
