Thanksgiving Wrap-Up

So how was your Thanksgiving?

Mine was good minus a couple of things.

A. My Pioneer Woman rolls did not rise as beautifully as those pictured in her blog. They still tasted good though and that's all that mattered.
B. People who RSVP'd that they were coming to our dinner did not come. HUGE pet peeve of mine. Really people...it's manners. Get some.

I even went to the gym today and did cardio...although I'm sure that was negated once I got home and grazed on leftovers. Pumpkin pie/stuffing/potato casserole...how I love thee.

Currently I'm uploading my pictures to the Army MWR site for the photography contest and watching Survivor. I'm actually into Survivor this season.

Tomorrow is the big game for Sean and I. BEDLAM! Of couse I'm rooting for my Oklahoma State Cowboys...we're having a good season and I don't want the Sooners ruining it for us.

What's Cooking?

As Thanksgiving approaches, Sean and I have been searching for recipes and narrowing down our list of what we want to make for Thanksgiving.

So far this is our list:

Turkey
Potato Casserole
Green Bean Casserole
Gravy
Mashed Potatoes
Stuffing (courtsey of Pioneer Woman)
Cranberry Sauces(another Pioneer Woman recipe)
Rolls (yet another PW recipe)
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Spinach Dip
Mozzarella Dip

Whew! That's a lot of food. I'll be making approximately 3/4 of the items on there. Luckily the pies, dips and casseroles can be made ahead of time.

So...what's on your list for Thanksgiving this year?

Dear Taylor Swift: please stop doing live performances.

I've had a great morning so far. Banana Nut Bread is calling my name in the break room and a co-worker has some fresh sweet potatoes that she gave me. I'm so excited! I absolutely love sweet potatoes and I'm looking forward to baking a few of them. Maybe some sweet potato fries are in order too.

One of my best friends, Kebi, told me about this awesome deal that she saw on Oprah.

It's the Snapfish photo book and it's free! Just upload the 20 pics you want in it and wha la! Awesome present to yourself or family.

Here's the link.

I spent this morning making a Excel spreadsheet of Thanksgiving food and who was bringing what. Then I transferred that over to a nice letter that Sean could hand out to those that will be attending Thanksgiving at our home. He said everyone has been asking him what to bring, so I thought outlining what people had already volunteered for might help a bit in that department.

Sean and I are already been arguing discussing what is going to be on our TV on Thanksgiving morning. Being a traditional type of gal and well..sometimes a bit of a diva, I'm insisting on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I wake up early for it and watch it every, single year. He's talking football pre-game. We do have more than one tv, but perhaps I can put one in the kitchen while I'm making dinner. Hmm......good thought on that one.

Did anyone watch the CMA's last night? I did until I passed out around 9:00. Can I just say I really enjoy Taylor Swift on the radio, but live she sounds awful? I've dismissed it at first as just a fluke, but after three or four times of listening to her live I've decided she's just not as good in person.

In the good news department I've already gotten three gifts on my Christmas list. I still have a lot to buy, but at least it's a start! Anyone else out there already shopping or already done completely?

Oh and thank you so much to Holly over at In Over My Active Head for this lovely award! Awards always make my day and this one was no exception!

Also go check out http://www.happylizzz.com/ for a great giveaway. I heard of it through Wandering DC, so be sure to go over and enter for the giveaway. It's a Target giftcard and a Starbucks giftcard. Who doesn't love either of those?

Enjoy the rest of your Thursday!
