Fun With Photoshop

So what's a girl to do when he husband is deployed and it's raining outside?

What's that you said? Housework? I think not.

I've spent part of this afternoon playing around with Photoshop.

First off I tried out a few new banners for my photo blog. I'm ok with what I made, but it's nowhere near what I've seen others make. *cough* Allison and Becca *cough*

Then I played around with editing some photos from my National Parks trip a few years ago and some textures I found on Flickr. (Sidenote: Textures are addictive)

My first attempt: A vintage type feel to this bison caboose

Attempt Number Two: Make Old Faithful look like it did 'back in the day.

I think this might be my favorite. I really tried to make it look like a 1950s picture or postcard.

  2. Oh my GOSH, I LOVE what you did with the PHOTOS!! I've tried and tried, and while I can make a mean banner, I can't edit photos for crap. Oh well. I'll just come to you if I want something done, haha!

;) Seriously, though, If I get you a photo could you give the treatment you gave that last photo?? I don't know what that effect is called, but I'm a HUGE fan!

  4. Very nice! I know what you mean about textures (Lightroom calls them presets). They can be addictive, but I've also gotten a few good ones that are just handy to have for regular editing, too.

  8. oh my word! i have NO closets! they put us in a teeny-tiny little shoe box of an apt. when I moved back after the last deployment. I think they did it as a punishment for leaving them and moving out of their housing for a year. its a horrid little place with no storage, really all my kitchen supplies are stored in the garage because there is only two ghastly small cupboards for dishes, food and pans.

but enough about that, a house is what you make of it right?

we were only meant to be here for two years, but apparently his unit likes him so every time we get orders to leave they stop them. this has happend 3 or 4 times? i cant remember, ha after a while i just stopped paying attention to them.
uhg. so ,if you guys do decide to come back this way... im sure we will still be here!
oh, where did you work while you were here?

i'm no fan of polk, but i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Naw'lins and baton rouge. they may just be my fave places in the world... well other then the Caribbean.
