Today is a Special Day!

I might be a little biased about it being a special day, but it's my birthday! More specifically it's my 26th birthday!



Sean and I are going out to dinner tonight, but I already have my presents. He got me a much needed external hard drive to store all my pictures on and the 2nd and 3rd season of Big Love. The third season isn't released yet, but I can't wait to watch the 2nd.

Do you guys have any birthday traditions? Growing up my Mom always made me my cake. I always chose strawberry cake as the base of it though. She also always let me plan my birthday dinner. I loved being able to choose what I wanted to eat for my birthday. That's probably a tradition I'll continue with my own children one of these days.

Oh and FYI, I'm planning a giveaway in honor of my birthday, BUT I need to get a few more things for it, so look for that within the week.

    Our bday tradition was we would get a homemade cake -- like you, mine was always strawberry with strawberry icing -- and pick a place for dinner. i loved it! Still do actually...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY pretty lady!!!! Wish we could celebrate togther. Just picture us, back in podunk again, going to new orleans ladies and tipping the strippers with our last one's.

    Or taking boomer and jagger out in the middle of the night, looking for fish heads and then getting so tangled up in dog leashes that all we can do is fall down laughing our asses off.

    My Mom also made a cake for our birthdays as well. Plus we got to choose our dinner--be it homemade or going out.

    Haaaapy Birthday! :) The only tradition for my birthday is that, in the month of October, when my, my sister's and her boyfriend's birthdays are, my parents take us all to a hibachi restaurant. Now that I'm married, I ALSO have a husband to who takes me to cheesecake factory :)

    We always got to plan our birthday cake and dinner too! It was something that made us feel loved without spending too much money since we often didn't have much for presents.

    Happy birthday girl! Our tradition was to go out to dinner and I always got to pick the place. I always chose red lobster. I got class see.

    As I got older, picking where to go for dinner was the tradition. When I was elementary school age I got to wake up with waffles for breakfast and orange juice out of a champagne glass.

    Happy Birthday!!!!

    For my birthday every year when I was little, our family would go to northern Wisconsin to my aunt and uncle's house and since my birthday is the day after the 4th of July we'd always have fireworks!

    And birthday traditions, we didn't have a lot. Mainly that you got to pick what you wanted for dinner. I did have a few pretty elaborate parties growing up though.
