Wow...I've been reading post after post lately about how people are pregnant.
I'm not jealous, in fact I'm very happy for everyone. Seems like there is a baby boom going on in the blog world right now.
Honestly, in my heart I don't feel like it's time for a baby for Sean and I yet. I really don't. Six months from now? Maybe. Year from now? Perhaps.
We are a little hesitant on when to start trying.
Do we start trying before a deployment? Just in case (Something I don't want to even think about)
Or do we start after?
Just because I'm not ready doesn't mean on days like this I don't want to have a baby really badly.
*sigh*
All in good time.
I'm feeling you- I am constantly telling the hubs that I want a baby. But then reality hits and I realize that I don't want to go through all of that without him. I know lots of wonderful women do, but we're trying to plan it around deployment schedules as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteSo, I know how you're feeling now! But just wait until you're in Europe for a little while at least! You're going to love being able to travel over there!
It is so hard with military life to figure out the right timing of things; timing when you feel right. Honestly, a year ago, we weren't even close to feeling ready. I think it is great that you and Sean are making sure it feels right for you despite the pressure that comes with babies being EVERYWHERE!
ReplyDeleteI agree with brando, since yall have an amazing adventure in front of you waiting in Italy, I'd hold off for a bit so you can take it all in. I have learned that babies dont always make the best traveling companions! What with the constant night waking and their lack of excitement over shopping and sightseeing historic places. : ) Hang in there, the time will come for you two and you'll be thankful for the time you guys had together.
ReplyDeleteI say after...with the first one there is so many unexpected things, and your hubby should be there every step of the way (or as many as the GOVT will let him!)
ReplyDeleteSERIOUSLY, is everyone having a baby right now? We joined a couple's Bible study and within the first 3 weeks, two women announced that they were pregnant. And one more found out last week!
ReplyDeleteI check Facebook regularly to see who is announcing that they are having a baby! I think I found out about 4 different girls I went to college with that are expecting.
Matt and I have talked about it, and it looks like we're going to be waiting about 3 years to have a baby-- until his sea tour is over. Three years sounds like such a LONG TIME. My friends will all have toddlers by the time we have a baby.
There has been a baby boom at work. First 3 of my co-workers had babies within one month of each other last year. My niece was born a month later. Now there are several women pregnant, and I'm sure there will be more at this rate! It makes me want a baby that much more. I've been wanting one since even before we were married! But my husband isn't on board with me. We've been married a year and a half now, but most of that was spent apart....so....perhaps not a good time yet? :[
ReplyDeleteAhh you're so sweet! When we were on the east coast every two to three years there was a crazy huge baby boom among our couples church group! We had to laugh and say it won't affect us (even though we felt the same way at times, wanted a little one, but knew it wasn't our right time yet :)) You definitely have time to enjoy each other and your marriage :) Thank you for your congrats and comment today!!
ReplyDeleteit'll happen in its own time. we were SHOCKED about this pregnancy and there are moments when i get scared because we didn't plan it. but i also didn't have time to get caught up in "trying" and being disappointed because it was all a flook! :) either way, it will work itself out and God will take care of the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteit is crazy the amount of Babies due to come into this world. I want a baby but I gotta work on the being married part first lol. I don't know what it is but I have never wanted a ring and to start a family so badly before. its like I just can't wait.
ReplyDeleteaahhh babies... such a wonderful thing!!! i'm so super excited about being pregnant. Just be patient, you will know when you're ready!!! You will see a baby, ANY baby, and just melt. You will have dreams so vibrant about babies that you can smell baby powder!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and then when you do get prego, you have some CrAzY a** dreams. Like last night, I dreamed it was my mission to get Santa's reindeer to him at the North Pole, but the North Pole was on the moon... Like I said... WIERD!!!
I hear ya sister. It's the never ending dilemma for me.
ReplyDeleteI have NEVER EVER talked about wanting kids until the last two weeks. I'm not ready now, but I feel like I will be soon. When to start is our issue also. DH will be going on a one year remote, and I don't want him to be gone. Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way you do but we are not ready yet either. Some days I really want one and others I don't want one for YEARS! We'll just wait and see!=)
ReplyDeleteI love babies, I just don't love teenagers.
ReplyDeleteAnd knowing that eventually that cute and cuddley baby will turn into an obnoxious, hormone filled, wild animal that some people call pre-teens, I'm going to put off that having one until much, much later.
But hey, that's just me.
There definitely is something in the water. Mr. Newlywed say it is because most people have slowed down at work either because of the economy or the holidays, and people have more time to spend in the bedroom...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, my brother and sister-in-law are going through the same thing right now. He has been in Iraq twice, and she really wants to have a baby but is so scared to do it alone. My brother will be career military most likely, but they are headed to Russia here pretty soon, so I think they are going to wait until they come back. They'll only be there 6 months for some special thing.
You'll know when the time is right. My mom always says God sends you a million signs.
