Tuesday Tidbits

Men must have some gene that prevents them from using the hamper. Otherwise, I can't explain it.

Mullets may have been cool in the 90's, but that was long ago. I'm looking at you tank top and mullet sporting man at the gym.

Jalapeno kettle chips/Dr.Pepper/Reeses can make any day better. At least in my world. (Can I just add that I didn't consume all three of those today?)

I wish it were acceptable to yell at the TV when annoying characters come on and for them to hear you. Case in point Mrs. Brown on The Unit. ARGH!

In a perfect world would be one where dishes clean themselves.

What I wouldn't give for some Mexican food right now.

I obviously wasn't thinking when I decided to bring my American car overseas. NEVER AGAIN!

If I was introduced to you after being a fellow wife in your FRG for a year and you have the nerve to say to me, "I've never seen you before in my life" and then you become FRG leader..I will not be attending your stupid potluck dinner on Saturday. Who has FRG meetings on a SATURDAY?! (No offense to anyone who does) :)

Tuesday Tidbits

- I put this on Facebook, but I've added a new goal to my deployment goals list. I want to run a 5K sometime this year. I'm sure for some this may seem like a paltry goal, but I'm not a runner. So, it's a good goal for me.

-Nothing hits the spot like a snack of Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds

-Watching Vienna in the audience of Dancing in the Stars made me want to yak. Jake...you are dead to me!

-I'm ramping up my efforts once again to learn Italian. My goal is to work on it for 30 minutes a day. My Italian friend, Roberta, will also be used in this goal. I actually got a few more Italian grammar books at the library yesterday and the guy checking out the books to me started rattling off in Italian. I picked up the book, pointed at it and said, "I'm not there yet."

- Forever 21 advertises this as a shirt on it's website. I believe that is a dress, because if it is a shirt, why is she not wearing pants?

-Do you guys ever check out the Awkward Family photos website? I know I've mentioned it on here before, but if you don't look at it, you should. I found this little gem today on there.

It's obvious they are on a cruise. My question is, what made her think that was appropriate evening attire? I'm honestly curious as to the thought process behind that decision.

Few Interesting Tidbits

1. I'm going to make my blog into a book! I was inspired by Glamourous Life of a Housewife and this post. I think it's a great idea because I'm a journal-keeper at heart and I haven't been very diligent writing in my journal these last couple of years. However...I do keep up with my blog quite well so now I'll have a way to look back at what I've been up to.

2. There's a new blogger that you military gals might want to check out. Her story? Irish girl meets American officer. Interesting perspective and cute blog. Check her out!

3. Also, if you don't read Brown-Eyed Baker then you should. Her recipes are delish and the food photography makes me want to reach through the screen.

4. I wrote a letter to HR about the El Asshat that was here as the interim director. I laid it all out for them and I hope he gets in trouble for it. He should know better than to mess with me! I'll let you know if anything develops from it.

Any interesting tidbits you'd like to share?

Tuesday Tidbits

Sean will be home this evening. I'm planning my welcome home outfit as we speak..er...type.

I was walking to the gym today and witnessed something that made my day. A mom was pushing her daughter in a stroller going one way, while another mother was pushing her son in the other direction. As they passed, the little boy leaned towards the little girl and screeched in a menacing way. I laughed so hard. The mom saw me laughing and just shook her head at her son. I told her watching that made my morning.

Parking on post is a nightmare. I honestly wish sometimes that soldiers that lived in the barracks either

A. Had access to a parking garage.
B. Weren't allowed to bring their vehicles.

I mean..is it really necessary for you to drive from your barracks to the PX for lunch? I think not. It's like a half a mile walk at most.

Another rainy looking day here, although it has yet to rain. I've added needing a trenchcoat to my rainy day attire list.

I finally found two rooms for us and another couple for Oktoberfest. It's a ridiculous amount of money and I can't believe we are paying it for one night. As God as my witness this lack of planning will NEVER happen again.

I got some pictures in that I ordered from some of my sorority date parties. HILARIOUS. One is Woodstock themed and one is a paint party. Maybe one of these days I can scan a pic so you can share in the hilariousness.
