Girls Roadtrip: Asiago

On Saturday, three other wives and I decided to do a little roadtrip to Asiago. (Yes, it is indeed home of Asiago cheese).

Asiago is only about an hour drive and it was so worth it! It's a smaller town and there's honestly not a lot to it, but I enjoyed the open meadows and cows scattered around. In all honesty, it was like we had driven to Germany or Austria. You'd never even think you were in Italy if it weren't for people speaking Italian.

Asiago view, right by the market.

My lunch: Cheese wrapped with speck( a type of ham from the Tirol region) mushrooms and polenta.

Fence and meadow on our hike up to the WWI monument.

The WWI monument. I have to say I don't know a lot about WWI or the battles fought around our area. Perhaps I should study up.

Meadows around Asiago. I wish I could move here. I miss open space!

We stopped to play on some playground equipment. You're never too old for a playground!

The most awesome Fiat EVER!

This church looks almost exactly like one in Innsbruck. I just love how cute the buildings are here!

Straw people! Of course I had to pose with them.

Florence

This is the second time I've been to Florence since we've been living in Italy and I still haven't gotten to see as much of it as I would like. This trip I focused on the main area, taking pictures of some sights I'd seen before and also going to the Accademia, where the statue of David is at. I was disappointed to find out you couldn't take pictures of David, but it didn't ruin my trip.

Ok..let me just preface this post by saying that I am not able to edit with Photoshop as it is being shipped to me, so I'm not 100% happy with the editing on these. That being said, here are some of my views of Florence.

The campanile right next to the Duomo. It stopped raining for a few minutes and blue sky appeared.

I love taking pictures of the different door knockers.

Bicycles on the square

Reflection of the Duomo in one of the many puddles

Locks on the Ponte Vecchio bridge

A quiet street in Florence

I actually took this picture on my last trip, but it is the best picture I have of the Duomo.

The ceiling of the Duomo. It depicts the Last Judgement.

Hope you enjoyed some of my views of Florence!

Photograph Friday- Cinque Terre

This is only a handful of the pictures I took while in Cinque Terre. I took around 300 pics and have yet to even edit 10% of them. Editing takes FOREVER!

Enjoy!

This is Manorola, which also happened to be my favorite of the four that we had time to visit.

The pathway between Riomaggiore and Manorla is called Pathway of Love. So naturally, when I saw this couple holding hands in front of me on the path, I had to snap this pic.

Waves crashing on the rocks near Corniglia

Flowers + view = AMAZING

The beach in Vernazza. This is where I actually got my feet wet. So refreshing!

Goodbye Cinque Terre! Promise I'll come back soon!
