Back and Better than Ever!

Sorry I have yet to blog! I obviously wasn't on the computer this weekend and once I got home yesterday I relaxed and then cleaned out the fridge in preparation for Thursday so it didn't leave me much time to get on here.

I'm still working on the pictures from New Orleans. I took over 400 while we were there and I'm still editing them in Picasa, so it's going to be probably this afternoon before any pictures are put up.

That being said I had a wonderful time with Sara in New Orleans. We saw some great sites, tried some great food and really got to experience the city. I can thankfully say that when I move that I really got to see the city of New Orleans.

Ok ok...one teaser picture before I post later.

On a different subject, I would like to thank both Sarah and Newlywed Hostess for my awesome new award. They were both kind enough to bestow it on me and I'm very grateful.

Now to pass this on.

1.Positively Preppy In Pink- She's in London currently, although getting ready to come back to the States soon and she takes the best trips. Plus I think she seems like such a sweet girl!
2. A Pretty Peony- she's fun and she's fabulous. Sounds like the perfect criteria to me!
3. What? Mermaids?- a fellow military wife, who's blog I really enjoy reading. She makes me think and she makes me laugh.
4.Lovely Yellow Ribbons- another military spouse who I recently discovered. She's got a naughty Min-Pin like mine. That alone deserves an award!
5. Honey- she makes the most gorgeous quilts and I'm quite excited to meet her once I move to Europe.

5 Things I think are fabulous:
1. Mexican Food
2. Argyle sweaters
3. Forever 21 (how did you not see this coming?)
4. New highlights in my hair
5. Eating delicious holiday food until I'm stuffed

In moving news, we found out today that Sean has to clear EVERYTHING by the 12th of December, which includes housing. Originally our check-out date was to be the 19th, but it's been moved up a week. My last day of work is the 15th, so we will be staying in the Magnolia House on-post until the 16th and then we will be heading home.

Our house is being packed up in less than two weeks.

I still have much to do before that time.

Commence freak out time in 3, 2, 1...

Girls Weekend

I'm happy to say that Sara and I are headed to New Orleans this weekend for a girls getaway!

Woo Hoo!

I am just beyond pumped about this. We've already booked out hotel (pet-friendly of course) decided what tours we will be taking (Haunted History and a walking tour of the Garden District) and have been checking out restaurants to see where we want to dine. A stop by Oak Alley Plantation is in the works too so I can get some pics of it.

I was afraid Sean would be a little hesitant for me to go since he wanted us to clean up the house this weekend in preparation for Thanksgiving Day, but I told him I'd do as much as I could tonight and tomorrow so I wouldn't have to worry about cleaning once I got back.

In other news I did a small order from Forever 21 yesterday.

I got this dress I've talked about before:

This adorable long-sleeved shirt:

And a basic, plain white long sleeved shirt. Which is an essential in my book.

I still am really lacking in winter clothes, but I hope to build what I have a little at a time.

I'm so ready for the start of the holidays! Hard to believe that in a week it will be Thanksgiving! I started making my list of what ingredients I need and I think I have it almost completed.

There's actually already a station here that's playing Christmas music. I caught an Elvis tune on there the other morning when I was taking Sean to work. The other morning he had to be at work at 4:00 a.m. and let me tell you, that's when they play all the good music! I heard some Doors and Human League in the 20 minutes it took me to take him to work and drive back home. Why is the reserve the crappy songs for the daytime hours? Riddle me that one people!

Anyone watch the America's Next Top Model finale last night? I wasn't suprised that McKey won, but I wasn't that happy about it either. The whole finale just seemed kind of ho-hum to me. I hope next season is better!

Oh..and before I forget, funny story. Somehow Boomer got into Sean's rucksack yesterday, pulled out an MRE, opened it and enjoyed a 600 calorie Veggie Burger, complete with BBQ stains on my comforter and sheets. Oh..and somehow he managed to cover up the stains on the sheets with the comforter. Crafty little Min-Pin isn't he?

Enjoy the rest of your Thursday everyone!

Ready for Summer

So, I'm back from my visit to Oklahoma. I actually got back last night around 10:00 p.m., but I was so exhausted from driving that I knew I would not be blogging until today. My main concern last night was just unloading the car and getting ready for bed.

I had a great visit while I was at home. I do enjoy my family although there were a few tense moments with one of my grandmothers when she found out my nose was pierced. She was quite upset by it, but she acted ridiculous about it. It's just a nose piercing! It's not even permanent! Anyway, other than that I had a grand time. I ate alot and I'm not even joking when I say that. Olive Garden with my friends, steak with my parents, pumpkie pie and mashed potatoes at my other grandma's...this always happens when I go home.

I also stocked up on some summer things while I was at home and I think I'm almost ready for summer.

Two pairs of white Old Navy flip-flops. Check

One fun Summer Handbag. Check

One super-cute summer skirty. Check

And some books to get me through a few weeks of the summer. Check

I'd say I'm well-stocked for the time being.

I spent most of today trying to get the house picked up. Sean did a good job of keeping the kitchen clean, but the rest of the house needed to be vaccumed, laundry needed to be done and our bedding needed to be washed and changed too. I did take a little time out for tanning though. Boomer is great for pest control while I'm tanning. There are lots of little bugs that like to fly around and he quickly snaps them up and eats them. He even got one out of my hair for me. What a funny little dog he is!

Sean won't be home until much later tonight. He has a jump this evening and most likely won't be home until after 10:00 p.m. He also has a 12 mile road march among other things this week. I'm a little disappointed though because we were planning on going to New Orleans this weekend for JazzFest and to sightsee, but they aren't getting a four day this weekend after all, so that plan is off. I'm not too disappointed though, I know sometime in the near future I'll get to go there again.
