5K: Part Deux

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that on a whim I decided to sign up for my second 5K despite being a total slacker in the running department the last couple of months.

Well, the run was this past Saturday and I'm happy to say that I improved my time by 2 minutes. My time yesterday was 34:12, by my next 5K I'm hoping to hit 30:00.

I got a shirt out of the deal, even though I'll never wear it since it's a size XL, but I figure when I finally make a t-shirt quilt one of these days, it can go in it.

Here's a close-up shot of my number:

I actually have a full shot of myself, but Sean is a horrible picture taker and shot me from an angle where I appear to have a double chin, so I won't be sharing that.

  2. Good for you!!! That's not a bad time at all!
Indy and James Bond did the Shamrock Shuffle 5K here yesterday. They didn't run the whole thing (Indy's 8), but came in around 45 minutes, so that's not too bad. The kids who participated were supposed to get medals, but they ran out and Indy was MAD. This is the 3rd year he's done it and was really in it for the medal. They even ran out of t-shirts. Poor planning! I did not do it this year because my baby shower was today and I was NOT going to go into labor. I sat in my car and read a book on my Kindle. Best 5K ever!

  6. Hooray! Good work on improving your time! I really miss running sometimes. But I hate it until I get so well trained that it's not an issue.

Thanks for your answers to my questions about the potential overseas option! If it happens, I will have TONS more to ask!

I'm really excited about the no quarantine thing though. I don't think Harley could handle it.
