What Are You Reading?

I'm midway through summer and needing some books to add to my reading list. So I thought I'd ask you, my readers, what you are currently reading.

I'm currently reading this:

I'm a sucker for biographies and I do like this book. I'm seeing the Kennedy family in a whole different light though, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

So tell me, what are you reading?

  1. I wish i could read something other than text books .. I'll be checking back though to see what people are reading to give me some ideas!! I STARTED to read the Green Zone, considering its a true story, but ended up watching the movie instead.

  2. I am bad about getting started on several books and switching between them. I'm reading Ghost Wars (really interesting!), Chosen Soldier (again, pretty interesting), and The World is Flat. I usually have at least one chick lit book in the rotation as well, but have run out of them.

Two books that were really funny that I just finished are: Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer (a college football fan's RV-ing adventure in the SEC) and Eats, Shoots and Leaves (about horrible punctuation and grammar. Totally funny.)

  3. I just finished "The River of Doubt" which is a biography of Theodore Roosevelt's exploration down this river in South America. It was very good.

  7. I love reading about Jacqueline Kennedy. Right now, I have just finished reading "Plain and Simple" about a woman who went to stay with the Amish for a while.

  8. Julie and Julia, Drowning Ruth, The Book of Awesome, and War. I always have about 3 going at the same time, else I lose interest and put it down. As soon as I'm done with any one of these I'm going to start Eat Pray Love. I only hate that the only copy I could find was the stupid movie one with Julia Roberts on the cover. Blech.

  9. I need more books to add to my list as well! I just started Twenties Girl, but haven't gotten very far. I recently bought Eat Pray Love, and I can't wait to start. I have heard so many good things about this book.

  10. I just finished Mansfield Park by Jane Austen and loved it. Now for a little light reading I've just started Forever Amber by Kathleen Windsor. It's a good old fashioned epic set in 1600s London. I think this is the third or fourth time I've read it.

  11. I'm trying to read eat, pray, love but i've been getting bored with it. She tends to drag stuff out that doesn't need to be. I'm just glad I got it as one of my free books off military one source!

  12. I just finished Farwelle Jackie if you want another Kennedy book. I also read "the little lady agency" by Hester Browne recently and enjoyed it. I'm going to start The Nanny Returns (nanny diaries part 2) on the flight to Phoenix. Hope I gave you some ideas!

  14. I just finished the girl who played with the fire (the second in the dragon tattoo series). I loved it...fast paced and surprisingly better than the dragon tattoo book. I just started reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter and just 15 pages in I'm hooked!

  16. Like a few above me, I just finished War by Sebastian Junger. Have you read American Wife by Curtis Sittenfield? It's a fictionalized telling of Laura Bush's life - it was interesting and really made me wonder which parts were true!! Also, I'm a bit of a car racing geek, so I'm just reading Senna Versus Prost by Malcolm Folley - it's about the explosive rivalry between two Formula One drivers in the late 80's/early 90's. But then again, big geek! :)

  20. I laughed a lot in Twenties Girl mentioned above! It's a good quick and light read. I also agree that Eat, Pray, Love drags after a while. Have you read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy? I really liked it.
