How many of you use a sleep-mask?
I always wondered how people could sleep with something on their face, until I tried a sleep mask. Now I wear it almost every night.
I'm a really light sleeper, so it doesn't take much to wake me up. Especially any sort of light in my bedroom, so I really think that wearing a sleep mask helps me sleep a lot better.
If you don't use a sleep mask, what is something that helps you sleep better?
A dark room that is really cold. I need a fan going every night. Even during the winter. I'm a light sleeper too!
ReplyDeleteI have to have a really cold room. That's the main thing for me. If I'm alone, I have to have the TV on. I have had trouble sleeping here recently because we don't have A/C so I am not cold enough to fall asleep. I generally wake up really hot in the middle of the night.. not fun at all!
ReplyDeleteI can't do the sleep mask, I find it irritating and it always end up off my face when I wake up. Im with everyone else, I need the room dark and cold so I can curl up in my down comforter!
ReplyDeleteI'll put on a sleep mask if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back asleep right away. Though oftentimes I'll wake up and it's stuffed between the pillows or under the blanket or something - really, I just need it to be dark when I fall asleep. Once I'm asleep, the light doesn't matter. :)
ReplyDeleteI use a sleep mask and love it. Sometimes it stays on all night and other times I take it off and throw it (without knowing of course). But I sleep better in darkness.
ReplyDeleteA fan, and I have to have music. But it has to stop or else it will wake me up later. Which I find weird, haha
ReplyDeleteDefinitely cold! Which, it hasn't been lately. They have 90* summers without AC up here in Alaska and I can't sleep. :( I use my face mask during the day when I am just relaxing and not sleeping. Otherwise I would be tempted to open my eyes, see my messy house and clean. Sometimes I just need to relax, even if I don't want to lol.
ReplyDeleteI used to wear a sleep mask that I scented with lavander essential oil. I'm not sure why I stopped using it...
ReplyDeleteI agree with my fellow eskimos--it's got to be cold, and I need to be under a cozy blanket! No measly little top sheet will do.
ReplyDeleteI used a sleep mask when I was in college but once I got married, somehow it was easier to sleep with Husband in the bed and I didn't need it as much. Now it feels weird to have something on my face at night.
ReplyDeleteI used to sleep with a sleep mask!! I totally got used to it, but anytime in the last few years I've tried to sleep with it I've ended it up pulling it off in my sleep.
ReplyDeleteWe have blackout curtains now because of me working nights, so I don't really ever get bothered by light anymore!
I try to use a sleepmask, but it always comes off- and I am still awakened by the especially early sun here in Japan. I will wake up at 6 and it is full light out making me think I slept in until 11, lol.
ReplyDeleteI use a sleep mask and can't sleep without it. The best I've used is from brookstone. Even a little bit of light keeps me up. And I can take better naps with it.
ReplyDeleteI've tried to sleep with a mask...and earplugs...but I can't. The mask disorients me, and the earplugs cause me to hear my own pulse which I found more annoying than the outside noises.
ReplyDeleteI have plantation blinds, turned up instead of down (blocks more light that way), with room darkening curtains on top of that. I'm also blessed with a busted street light right now...hope THAT doesn't change anytime soon!
i've always wanted a sleep mask! esp one that looks like that one :D. i think i've seen some on etsy.
ReplyDeletei sleep with lots of pillows, between my knees, between my arms, and under my head of course. and in a cold room, like most others. sometimes with a pillow over my head if matt is snoring.
but i'm with you, lights anywhere wake me up and make it hard to fall asleep!
