Since I've been home I've been watching a little bit of TV. I'm AMAZED at some of the stuff that's on right now.
My biggest shock? MTV's Jersey Shore. It's like the Real World combined with that True Life episode of Jersey Shore. The people on there are literally the stereotypes I think of when I think of people in Jersey. Paulie D? I don't even have words to describe him. It's just like a character you would see on Saturday Night Live! And the girls? All think they are so hot and fun, but when they go out, it seems people just laugh and think they are ridiculous. Somehow it's like a train-wreck though and I can't stop watching.
The other thing I was amazed at? Some of the commercials I've seen. Particularly a commercial that shows two women shopping for men in a grocery store. It's advertising Online Booty Call.com. Um..seriously? There's a website for booty calls? Wow.
It honestly blows my mind!
Haha! I've never seen it, but my husband watches that show! The sad part is that he tries to tell me about it, like I care!
ReplyDeleteThis is when I am happy we don't have cable...
ReplyDeleteI'm totally on the Jersey Shore bandwagon. It's extra funny since my Italian family lives in NYC & NJ and my mom would go to the shore when she was a teenager. Definitely a guilty pleasure! :)
ReplyDeleteThe show is such a mess that I can't help but to watch!
ReplyDeleteSadly I must admit. I watch that show. It's horrible, like a train wreck that I just can't take my eyes off. The over orange tan is just absolutely ridiculous. Did you see the Situation and the over inflated ego?
ReplyDeleteJersey Shore...wow. Several of my friends, including my bf (yikes!) are fascinated by this show and assume I should like it too because, after all, I'm from Jersey. It's really just embarrassing to know that wherever I go in this country, I will be associated with those people...
ReplyDeleteBut to each his own, I guess. I watch nerdy tv shows everyone makes fun of too.
ReplyDeleteWhat's that saying? "New Jersey: Our girls ain't trash, trash gets picked up." ;) Gotta love busted tees!
ReplyDeleteIts been pretty impossible NOT to hear about Jersey shore lately. I'm a little intrigued, but still have been able to avoid watching any episodes.
ReplyDeleteOk I thought I commented, but I thought I said that I saw Jersey Shore for the first time today. It was weird! Definitely a trainwreck!
ReplyDeleteTV is just crazy these days like the awkward extenze commercials and things of that nature just yuck!
ReplyDeleteHaha!! I know what you mean! I can't turn away from Jersey Shore!
ReplyDeleteLOL I forgot about AFN commercials and no regular commercials OCONUS.
ReplyDeleteAs a born and bred Jersey girl, I take immense offense to that show. The state is actually trying to ban it based on the fact that it portrays people who live here as doped up idiots. But, I just make the choice not to watch it. I mean, who am I to stop people from making idiots of themselves right? Lol.
ReplyDeleteBut when people start asking if they can call me "Snookie" or "The Situation", I draw the LINE. Jersey will come OUT. Lol.
I have never heard of it...lol But then I am stuck in Europe where we don't have such things ;)
ReplyDeletemost of the people on Jersey Shore aren't even from Jersey. In the first episode it introduced them and they are from places like Rhode Island. New Jersey has asked MTV to stop filming it.
ReplyDeleteAt least you have commercials. Here in Greece (and AFN) I have forgotten what advertisements are!
