Well my journey from the States back to Italy was interesting to say the least.
For starters I wasn't sure I'd make it out of Hometown,Oklahoma. We all boarded a small jet and as we were all settled in, the pilots made an annoucement that the plane was giving an error message and there was something wrong with the fuel injectors. They tell us we all need to get off the plane and see if they can fix it. Unfortunately if they do not there wasn't another flight that day to Atlanta.
10 minutes later they come back on the intercom to inform us they rebooted the computer and the error was gone. To say the passengers were unsettled was an understatement. I hate flying anway, but to fly on what could be a broken plane? Was nervewracking! The girl that was sitting next to me actually opted to get off the plane.
The rest of my flights weren't as scary, but all those that told me the Paris airport was a nightmare were right! Luckily the terminal we landed at was right next to the one I departed from, but that has to be the worst layout in an airport that I've ever seen! I much prefer the layout of Atlanta's airport.
Can I just say though that my flight on Air France was amazing.
1. Free champagne. What's not to like?
2. Amazing food. I had the best meal ever on an airplane on that flight. For breakfast I even had a jar of cinnamon/orange confit. Amazing!
3. Individual viewing screens so you can watch or listen to whatever you want.
I was so glad to make it back safely though. Now I'm just trying to get over this awful jetlag!
Urgh jetlag is horrible, I hope you adjust soon and I am glad you survived the Paris airport!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got back safely without a headache from all this wicked winter weather! So, did you get the laptop delivered in time? Hope so. Talk to ya soon!
ReplyDeleteI hate overseas flying. Glad you got home safely.
ReplyDeleteUgh I hate jetlag! I hope you adjust soon friend!
ReplyDeleteI actually flew air france from Argentina to Chile (I know, weird) and it was the damned strangest flight I've ever been on. Few windows, and 4 seats in every section. People would actually choose to walk on tray tables and arm rests to avoid making other people move. It was the oddest thing to see bunches of people clibing over seats when they needed to get up!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the Paris airport sucks. It's location to the city also sucks.
I think i might have gotten off the plane too. I'm just a little antsy about flying these days.
I'm glad that you made it back! Yes the Paris airport does suck but Air France makes you forget that! lol. Get some rest!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you made it back to Italy safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are back safely! Air France sounds like my kind of flight! :)
ReplyDeleteAgree. Agree. Agree. Air France has been my favorite flight so far, but the Paris airport sucked in a major way!
ReplyDeleteWow. That sounds like an amazing way to travel. Why can't U.S. airlines be like that?
ReplyDeleteI love flying when you have your own personal screen, especially when they give you lots of movies to choose from. I think my last international flight I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's and Disney's The Aristocats. Talk about a selection!
ReplyDeleteGlad your back!! can not wait for pictures!
ReplyDeleteNote to self: Fly Air France! ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad things went mostly smoother this time! How's your pup doing?
