Thank You!

I'd like to say thanks to everyone for leaving me comments yesterday. I was overwhelmed by your kind words and good thoughts. That seriously made my day so much better!

Today I'm doing better. I haven't cried yet and I've even worked out. I'm actually on-post right now so I can use the computers and get a few errands done. Trying to navigate the internet using our PS3 was not fun. I mean it works...but I prefer to use an actual computer.

Since I'm in better spirits I thought I'd share a thought that came to me last night when I was talking to my best friend.

Am I the only person who wonders what Dolly Parton looks like without a wig?

Please tell me I'm not.

  1. I didn't have much time to read posts yesterday, but I went back to yours just now, and *hugs* to you!

  2. You've got the hardest part over, the saying goodbye. I'd say the best way to survive the deployement is don't spend the year "waiting". Take full advantage of living in Europe, and send your husband lots of pictures. I know mine was much happier knowing I was doing things to make myself happy -- even though he still makes comments about the pictures I sent him of myself holding a giant beer at Oktoberfest. I'm sure you will be fine -- you seem like a very strong and capable person.

  3. Oh and here is another good book: "The Homefront Club" by Jacey Eckhart. She came to post and I heard her speak, she is really good.

  4. LOL...Nope! I wonder the same thing too. Without the wig and makeup, I bet she's scary!

  6. I'm sorry I have no advice on waiting out deployment as I am not a military wife. Stay as busy as you can. Time seems to go faster if you stay busy in my opinion. I wish I had more advice for you. I can't imagine the heartache. I would like to know what Dolly looks like without a wig. Is blond her real color?

  7. We're about a month and a half in to the actual deployment, although because of training and "life" we haven't actually seen each other since the end of July. And a huge yes, I found that once he left it got much easier, like your brain somehow accepts it better ... I dunno, but it got easier, and I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

  12. Aw, don't hate on Dolly! Poor woman, she has fallen victim to the Nancy Peolsi brand of plastic surgery. But she's still one of my faves!
