As Thanksgiving approaches, Sean and I have been searching for recipes and narrowing down our list of what we want to make for Thanksgiving.
So far this is our list:
Turkey
Potato Casserole
Green Bean Casserole
Gravy
Mashed Potatoes
Stuffing (courtsey of Pioneer Woman)
Cranberry Sauces(another Pioneer Woman recipe)
Rolls (yet another PW recipe)
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Spinach Dip
Mozzarella Dip
Whew! That's a lot of food. I'll be making approximately 3/4 of the items on there. Luckily the pies, dips and casseroles can be made ahead of time.
So...what's on your list for Thanksgiving this year?
Yum! I did a post about my menu as well...I can't wait for Thanksgiving!

headed to the inlaws so I dont get to cook. I'm a little sad actually. I was going to make the whole traditional meal, witha nice side of squash casserole just like my grandma made and for dessert... cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom is coming to visit us for the week. She is arriving shortly. E and I are making:
ReplyDeleteTurkey, Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Acorn Squash, Noodle Pudding, Corn, Cranberry Sauce, Cherry Streudel and Pumpkin Pie with fresh whipped cream. I think that will be enough LOL
Happy Thanksgiving.
It's just not thanksgiving without the green bean casserole!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, a friend of ours had no clue Oklahoma got so cold! I guess some people don't realize that a lot of the south gets bitterly cold.
We are pushing our Thanksgiving back a day due to James Bonds work schedule. I can't wait to make the pies, my Grandmothers sweet potato puff recipe, and everything else. I am probably making enough for a family of 5 and there are only 2 and a half of us. haha.
ReplyDeleteWow! Your list looks just as crazy as our list:
ReplyDeleteturkey (alton brown)
stuffing (from a box!)
cranberry sauce (grandma!)
green bean casserole (grandma!)
mashed potatoes (pioneer woman)
homemade rolls (my fiance's recipe)
salad
pumpkin pie
apple pie (alton brown)
mmmmm...can't wait!
We always make Baked Mac and Cheese
ReplyDeleteNice pics! That goes for the whole series on Slovenia.
ReplyDeleteSlovenia is a small and extremely diverse country well worth a visit.
You really can't go wrong with a SPA vacation. Maybe you can combine that with a visit of one of Slovenia's wine regions. I would also highly recommend you try some outdoor activity (e.g. hiking, rafting, canyoning).
Love PW as well!
ReplyDeleteWe're doing potluck style with each family contributing to a dinner hosted at our house. We are making the turkey -- a fresh one from a local butcher, roasted sweet potatoes, Aunt Cheryl's yams, pecan pie, crostini with Tuscan pate, bread from the pizzeria down the street & shrimp mold.
As always, it'll be too much food. As always we'll rub our bellies and comment as such. As always we'll agree that it's worth every bite.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Dana
Wow, that's a lot of food. have fun cooking and baking. We canceled Thanksgiving this year because I am at my in-laws and hubby can't be there because of training... it's kinda complicated. We'll probably just go out to eat Thanksgiving weekend.
ReplyDeleteGive me Ham, Mashed Potatoes, hot rolls and pecan or pumpkin pie with loads of whipped cream and I'm a happy camper!
ReplyDeleteI was just catching up on your last few posts (bad blogger, I know) and wow! Slovenia looked absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're going all out for Thanksgiving! If I had to do Thanksgiving dinner all on my own, Ryan and I would be screwed! Good for you!
I am planning on attempting the PW rolls -- I think they match up to my culinary skill level!
ReplyDeleteOther than that, ours is gonna be very low key, I think. I am just not that ambitious, and there will only be 3 of us. My sister and I are planning on drinking A LOT of wine, so we won't really be tasting everything anyway. :-p
I am going to my boyfriend's family in Iowa, and I plan to make sour cream coffee cake muffins to share. I made them last week and brought them to work, and they were amazing!
