I've been at the gym a lot in the last week. Mainly because I've gained a couple pounds back and I cannot be having that.
Anywho....this weekend I had the pleasure of experiencing this:
-One gentlemen who seemed to have bathed in cologne. It was so strong I could.not. breathe. Dude....it's the gym..you get sweaty. No need to douse yourself in cologne pre-workout. Geeze...
-Another gentlemen tried to impress everyone in the gym by putting a ridiculous amount of weight on any machine he did.
Back squats? About 3 45lb weights on each side. How many squats did he do at a time? One. And then rested for five minutes until he did another one. Leg press machine. He had 12 45lb weights on it. He couldn't even move the pedals more than an inch! Um...perhaps you should take weight off so you can do more? Just a thought.
I can hardly wait to see what other weirdos I encounter in my fitness quest.
They get worse around the first of the year!! By late February they taper back off.
ReplyDeleteWhat I hate are the guys who grunt like they're giving birth every time they do a rep. Geez, it's not impressive. It's pathetic.
ReplyDeleteI think I see more crazy stuff at the gym than anywhere! I can't stand the old "salty dogs" that like to walk around in tight spandex bottoms. What the heck? I think I went blind once for about 10 mins.
ReplyDeleteHaha I hate that about gyms, there are def those weirdos!
ReplyDeletehaha! Gyms are hilarious! So many fun characters to watch. One of my favorites is the lady on the treadmill hugging the front of it for dear life.
ReplyDeleteIn Texas, there was this couple, and they were built, with tons of flab over it. Anyway, they would do the leg press machines (whose fancy name I have forgotten) and piled every post with weights on it. She had to scream, slap her legs, and get her husband and some other guy to help her do it while she screamed, grunted, and cried. Seriously lady, take off about 100 pounds and do it yourself, you looked like an idiot.
ReplyDeleteI had a personal trainer take the treadmill next to me and his breath was so bad I nearly passed out. Eww!
ReplyDeleteHaha, wow! Those are some gym weirdos! I hate when you can walk into a room and still smell that linger of cologne!
ReplyDeleteCan I just be the firs to say I am not impressed with anyone who squats with a machine? Impress me by using your body, not a machine.
ReplyDeleteAnd ick on the cologne. People sweat, it happens. Why try to fight it?
ha ha ha..I love the folks that lift weights as they stare at themselves in the mirror.
