I'm one of those people who read several books at the same time.
Currently I'm reading:
A very good biography of Marilyn Monroe. I've read a few others, but this is by far the best one I've read.
This was a suggestion from Sean. It's about D-Day and it is indeed awesome.
So...what are you reading?
Those books look really good-- I just finished up Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (it wasn't as ridiculous as it sounds) and now I'm reading Say You're One of Them by Uwem Akpan. It's good so far. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Jodi Picoult's Handle with Care.
ReplyDeletePS---I sent your package out last Saturday. Please let me know if you don't get it in what seems like a reasonable amount of time :)
I am reading "The Jesus You Can't Ignore." Taking a break from fiction for a bit. But I just finished "The Last Thing I Remember." It's the first in a series and I hope the others come out soon.
ReplyDeleteYou should be getting your package from me any day now as well.
I'm not currently reading anything, but my next book buy is I Want by Jane Valez Mitchell.
ReplyDeleteI am STILL reading Chasing Harry Winston. Ugh. I'm so busy I never get to read anymore.
ReplyDeleteAnd going off of what BBS said...I've heard that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was great...never read it thought.
I'm reading "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote. This is actually the 3rd or 4th time I'm reading it...it's so good. It's the book that inspired the movie "Capote," actually. True story, but written like a detective novel sort of. Very cool, and I highly recommend it :)
ReplyDeleteFun topic! Marilyn Monroe was so beautiful and fascinating. Thanks for sharing your current books!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris and The Beautiful and the Damned by F.Scott Fitzgerald. Just finished The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. It was excellent.
That Marilyn book looks really good! I just started The Girl with No Shadow by Something Harris. It is sooooo good so far, very French and fancy!
ReplyDeleteKitchen Confidential by the ever-so-hot Anthony Bourdain, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the first book in the Wizard of Oz series. I usually have several going at once, too; Michael often makes fun of me. Both of us are big readers and Jericho seems to be following suit. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading "How Starbucks Saved My Life," a memoir that was decent.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing I've read recently was "My Life in France" by Julia Child. It was much more exciting than I thought it would be, and her life (traveling, etc) sort of reminded me of military life.
I am reading The Time Travelers Wife and my hubby and I are reading Dave Ramseys Total Money Makeover. Both are great books!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!!
I just finished 2 books. Water for Elephants was one, and it was totally amazing. What a great book, I highly recommend it. It's about a man who loses everything during the depressing and goes to work for a traveling circus.
ReplyDeleteI also just finished Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. It's about all the horrid things that happen to our bodies when we're pregnant. But it's hysterical. I LOVE to read and love getting suggestions too!
I am reading and LOVING Sneaker Wars. It is about the two enemy brothers who founded the companies Adidas and Puma...two of my favorite sneaker brands.
ReplyDeleteI was also trying to read a biography on the Duchess of Devonshire, but it is really starting to slow down and I just had to take a break.
Ooh both sound really interesting!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading a couple career books, just finished The Game and No Country for Old Men.
Oooh! Marilyn seems like a great obsession for me to take on! I have read pretty much every book about the royal family, the Kennedys and the Bushes.
ReplyDeleteI just finished "Waiting Wives" which is a story about a closed air force based revamped entirely for wives of men sent away to Vietnam during the war. It's pretty interesting and non-fiction.
I just started "I'm with the Band" by Pamela Des Barres about her life as a groupie/sex goddess during the 60s, 70s, and 80s. So far, so good.
I'm reading books for school about teenage angst and a million others. For fun? Nothing! I read Shanghai Girls and Pretty In Plaid on my cruise- both very good.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld. SO GOOD!
ReplyDeleteI'm curently reading Three cups of tea, and lonely bones. :) Both are pretty incredible.... My book collection is constantly growing. I suggest A thousand splendid suns, and Kite runner if you haven't read them. They are dark novels, and make you think, but they really are incredible :)
ReplyDeleteI've read that marilyn book! I thought it was really good. The book I'm reading right now is, " Jack & Jill" by James Patterson
