I'm feeling a bit under the weather today. I'm not sure if it's allergies or one of the many colds that are running rampant on post right now. Sean is convinced I'm getting the flu since I refuse to get the flu shot. Quite honestly, I just don't see the need. Speaking of the flu shot, they were giving it to people in the food court of the PX today. Anyone else find that odd?
We've spent today watching college football. Or more precisely, Sean has been watching it and I've been half-watching it since I'm trying to finish editing pictures from when my mom and brother were here so I can make my mom a photobook for her birthday that is coming up.
I've also been obessively been reading Rick Steves travel books and planning on where I want to go for the next few months. Sean and I are going to do our best to get to Prague and over to Slovenia before he leaves and in the spring I'd really love to get to Paris. (KD..are you getting the hint there) Speaking of KD...she turned me onto a really great website called homeaway.com. Basically it's a website that you can search for vacation rentals all over the world. I'm pretty sure I've already found us a place for Prague and I'm working on Paris right now and even browsing Morocco. (I really, really want to go to Morocco while we are stationd here)
And now, I leave you with a picture I edited today. I was going for the vintage vibe.
I'm with you about flu shots. I know more people who get sick from the flu shot than who get the flu! Plus, this whole Swine Flu thing has taken on a life of its own. You get the sniffles and they want to call it Swine Flu! A family in our Sunday School class said they all had Swine Flu a couple of weeks ago, and the wife said "Yeah, we all had it, but none of our symptoms were the same." She's a doctor's wife, so I didn't feel like starting a debate, but really? It was all different, but the same? I have a feeling a lot of people are getting misdiagnosed thanks to all the hype. But whatever.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that picture. Very nice with the vintage.
Yay for Game Day!! :)
Sounds like fun travels!
ReplyDeleteSorry you're feeling bad. Get better soon!
I've never gotten the flu shot in my life and honestly don't remember the last time I've had the flu. Now that you've made me realize that, I feel pretty silly about how adament I've been about getting one over the past couple days. I guess I've let all the hype get to me. At any rate - I hope you get to feeling much better soon!
ReplyDeleteOur house is in complete disarray right now. The movers brought ALL of our stuff today. Somehow college football has been on my TV all day as well. Throughout all the unpacking. I can't say I mind too much though! Who do you and your husband go for??
I hope you're not getting the flu. I agree about the shots-- I've had the flu once in my life (in elementary school) and have never had a flu shot. Feel better soon! :)
ReplyDeleteThe food court?! That is crazy!
ReplyDeleteYou are right to not get the flu shot...you'd be amazed at what the actual officials in Washington say behind closed doors. It's a racket to dump money in the pockets of those who have investments in the companies who are making this death shot...whoops...I mean, vaccine. None of the doctors we've talked to recommend it or even think it's safe... It isn't safe...for goodness sake the ingredients alone can make skin peel off your face just reading them... ;). Sorry...I'm very opinionated about this "vaccine"!!!
I'm not going to get the flu shot either. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeletevrbo.com and homelidays.com are great sites, too. We used vrbo when we went to Paris and stayed in a great little apartment in Montmartre. We used vrbo when we traveled to Belgium with another family - we had 2 adults and 9 kids! We needed space! LOL
ReplyDeleteDon't rule out Croatia as a destination. Split and Dubrovnik are beautiful destinations. A trip into Zagreb, Croatia is quite an experience. You wander through these beautiful hill and valleys and then all of a sudden you are in Zagreb and there is still a srark cold war feel there.
Can you tell I miss living in Italy? ;)
I'm with you, I never get the flu shot! Let's hope I never get the flu ;)
ReplyDeleteand Prague is one of my favorite places! I hope you guys love it. We stayed at an apartment right downtown near the astronomical clock. If you'd like the info, just let me know. It was really inexpensive.
I don't like flu shots. The one year I got one was the one year I ended up in the hospital with such a bad flu! I stay away and remeber the most important thing during flu season. Wash your hands!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better. I opted not to get the flu shot as well.
