Foul Mood

Do you guys have days where you're just in a fould mood? Sometimes for a couple days in a row?

These last few days I've been in a funk. At times I've been downright bitchy crabby. I don't know what the deal is, it seems nothing is safe from my wrath.

For starters I have issues with my FRG. I don't feel like the function as they should. Example 1: We had an FRG meeting/dinner last night at the FRG leader's house. When did I find out about it? Monday afternoon. I think it's just common courtsey to give at least a weeks notice for events like that. Am I wrong? There are more issues I have with them, but I'll save that for another day.

Yesterday I was in the library and there was a soldier (in ACUs) with his wife/gf/something crouching in the video section, carassing/kissing/stroking each other. Maybe we're just old school, but Sean and I try to uphold the rules about no PDA while he's in uniform. Sure, I'll give him a little peck in the car, but the couple yesterday was way out of line. Especially for a public place like the library.

Lastly, we have newish volunteer at work that is getting on my last nerve. My main issue with her is she's been there all of 2 weeks and acts like she runs the place. I was trying to fix something on the TV the other day and she actually grabbed the remote out of my hand and said, "I'll do it." First of all...don't EVER grab something out of my hand when I'm trying to do something. Big, big no no. Also the last few days I've gotten the vibe she's there more to try and flirt with the soldiers then actually try to help the USO. Not a plus in my book.

I'm hoping a few days off work will restore my good mood!

  1. Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. My husband calls it "one of your moods" and then tries to get out of my way as quickly as possible ;)

  2. Maybe it's something in the air. I was a terrible crankyass today. Maybe it was joining the rest of post in buying new fuel coupons today. There's just GOT to be a better system. There probably is, but the stupid Italians won't agree to it. I think I would have had to say something to the couple in the library.

I had been wondering why I hadn't received invites to some of the teas and BBQs that I thought were FRG events. Turns out no, they are only for the officers' wives in the FRG. Some of the other NCO wives apparently want to complain to the general, but why would I want to be part of a group that has to be forced to invite me??

  3. Yeah I get those moods. Just random angry. Sometimes it's cause I just don't want to admit the real reason I'm upset, even to myself.

And yeah, someone just taking something out of my hand...would lose theirs.

  4. I've definitely been there before. Do you think it could be the upcoming deployment? I know I went through stages of anger for days then it was usually replaced with sadness. It seemed like anyone/anything was fair game for my bitchiness. Hope you snap out of your funk soon!

  5. Sometimes FRGs are more trouble than they're worth. As for the gross PDA, you're not being old school. You've just got some brains between your ears-- is it sad that sometimes as an Army wife, you know how things are supposed to work more than an actual soldier? It's actually written somewhere that PDA is not appropriate for soldiers in uniform unless they're leaving for/ coming home from deployment. (http://www.milspouse.com/uniform-dos-and-donts.aspx) I can't believe that crazy lady took something right out of your hand like that-- it was downright juvenile.

  6. We had an FRG meeting on Monday. I am not on their lists so I don't get emails. My husband found out about the meeting Monday morning at PT. How's that for a weeks' notice?

Oh, and the meeting was pointless and I counted 5 typos/misspellings on the "questionaire" we had to fill out about ourselves and any "volenteer" positions we would like to fill.

    Ugh!

  7. Maybe its the weather? I know with fall coming I've been more irritable and lazy.
Anyway, those two in the library sounded WAY out of line. I would have totally told them off. But I've always been pretty opinionated and not afraid to share it!
Feel better! Oh, I left something for you at my blog.

  8. I'd say you have a few reasons to be a little cranky lately. We all go through it and awkward couples with the awkard PDA's, know-it-all, remote grabbing newbies, and needing to make last minutes plans sure doesn't help a bit!! I think you need some ice cream. I miss those ice cream review posts anyways!
