So, today the fam and I went to Verona. We had planned on going yesterday, but they were installing my A/C...so the trip got moved to today.
Verona was good. I love the town, only downside today was that it was HOT. Hot enough that I have to use all upper-case letters to convey that to you.
The best part of Verona was the amazing lemon slush I got at the snack bar we ate at for lunch. Freakin' amazing. Seriously the best lemon slush I've ever had. If I could have married the slush right there in Piazza Erbe I would have, because it was just that good.
As many of you know I love shoes. All colors and styles. I do hate a few pairs though. Mainly Crocs, but there is a style out there that I loathe. It's quite popular right now and I see it everywhere. Some of you might even wear them.
Da duh duh
The Gladiator Sandal!!!!
Blech! If you wear them, kudos to you, but I think they are ugly.
So, several of you told me you weren't aware that Miss Kebi and I were friends. Oh the stories I could tell you about Kebi! Just kidding....sort of.
Now, a few pics from the archives of Kebi and yours truly.
Like my extra tiki?
Please ignore my goofy look and extra chin (that was 20 lbs ago!) and instead concentrate on Kebi. (Kebi caught the bouquet at my wedding by the way.)
Kebi, Me and our friend Nikki posing with my Oklahoma Centennial Sign (Which I may or may not have obtained illegally.)
I want one of those signs!! That would have been awesome to have in our engagement pictures.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand those gladiators either. UGH! Seriously can't stand the way they look, and they are even more uncomfortable to wear. (I may have tried on a pair the other day just to see how the actually looked on.)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm lemon slush, I love!
ReplyDeleteI don't like those gladiator shoes either. I have yet to see them on anyone and look anywhere near flattering.
All of your talk about the yummy lemon deliciousness over there is making my mouth water. First the gelatto, now the slushes! Oh I need to go to Italy.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm not a fan of those gladiator sandals either. I have a pair of some sandals that are kind of strappy, but not quite gladiator that I like. I just really don't like the the ones that go up the ankle and all.
What is the point of the gladiator is always my question lol. Can you imagine gettin sand in them you would have to take off all those straps to get it out haha.
ReplyDeleteNot to worry I despise those disgusting looking sandals. They are SO ugly.
ReplyDeleteI hate gladiator sandals too!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate the galdiators too! I don't see why any one would wear that one their feet! I am totally all about strappy sandles and flip flops but gadiators is takking it over the edge!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm lemon slushie :D
ReplyDeleteI hate those sandles and soo many people where them lol!
I agree, I HATE those sandles. Everytime I see them I just wanna scream, why are you wearing those!!!??!?!
ReplyDeleteMMMMMM, slushies! Nothing better then that on a hot day! I too do not like THAT particular style of glatiator sandel, but I do wear another form of them...The ones I wear are not that bad:p
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of the Jesus Shoes either. Eck!
ReplyDeleteYou happened to "find" the sign on the side of the road, just lying there, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI don't get the gladiator trend either. In fact, I don't get most trends. I'm very untrendy, a jeans and t-shirt gal right down to the roots.
omg -- i HATE gladiator sandals, especially the ones of late with the ruffles on them! I joke that they look like mini armadillos!
ReplyDeletemmm, I love lemon -- I can only imagine how tasty the slush was!
Those gladiator sandals sure do look like a lot of work. And not nearly cute enough to be worth it!
ReplyDeleteGah...have you see the gladiators that are boots with a heel? Disgusting!!!! I saw them yesterday and seriously thought...what the heck are they thinking?
ReplyDeleteCracks me up that the best thing about a great Italian city is the dessert. You're a girl after my own heart!
ReplyDeleteI think that those ankle boots and gladiator boots are hideous too, you'll never catch them on my feet.
awwwww you two are BEAUTIFUL!!!! and i don't see this chin of which you speak of....
ReplyDeletelol... stealing signs. I have so many friends that do that.
ReplyDeletePistol Pete! My cousin's had him at their wedding, lol.
lol-- that pistol pete bit was obviously because of the next post ;)

ReplyDeletewhat about those? are they ugly? i don't own them but i've had shoe-envy for months now...
I want that sign! And a lemon slush! And a bonfire to burn all crocs and gladiators. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that I HATE gladiators also! We all need to get together and have a burning party!
