Question of the Day and An Awkward Website

Do you consider Daisy Dukes and a Hooters Camouflage shirt as appropriate wear to the PX?

Did I mention she had her three young children in tow and her NCO husband?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Oh..and I saw this on Megan's blog, but you must check out AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com.

Here's just a preview of what you can expect:

I promise you won't be disappointed!

  1. Um, to your first question: Absolutely not!!!! Gross

Secondly, that's awesome. I can't wait to check out this awkward website! That pictures is awful ;)

  2. No way! I don't think that's appropriate attire anywhere, let alone at the PX (where you're guaranteed to see people that your husband works with!)

    And that website is hysterical!

  3. I don't think you need to be in pearls and heels to go to the commissary or PX, but some of the things people wear make me shake my head. For example, a soldier wearing pj pants, a tshirt with a beer slogan, and slippers? How embarrassing for him to run into someone in his chain of command in the frozen food section! Or a 17 year old wife in a skirt that shows her butt and a midriff baring tank? Yikes!

  4. ah. Awkward family photos is so fantastic! I can't believe anyone would still be wearing an outfit like that. Ew.

Just wanted to let you know, too, that I gave you an award on my blog :)

  6. Heres a question for you...There are people that dress like that everywhere you go...Do you consider it to be more offensive at the PX over places like Wal-Mart and Winn Dixies? I totally agree that there is a dress code when you go out in public places and daisy dukes with hooters tops are not one of them:p That family photo is begging to ask the question "what where they thinking?" Lol...Can't say I would have paid to have that done:p

  7. Ha ha... the Pooh family is a new one! Or at least I missed it from my previous venture to that site.

I'm debating on digging into the 80's popcorn ball perm family photo archive and threatening some family members with my own post!

  8. See, that's why I'm scared to even go on post. Well, kind of.

    That website is hilarious.

  9. I don't understand woman who dress like that to go to the PX and the worst thing is her husband probably likes it....yuck

And those pictures, awesome, I think Doc and I are going to have to do that naked pregnant couple pose...barf

  10. People just don't know how to dress in public.

Thanks for sharing that website. I was laughing so hard that I was crying!

  11. Clearly that photo was the mother's idea. I would never ever hang that in my house.

Yeah, milspouses don't need to get too dressed up to be out on post, but using some caution and common sense would be nice. Mark has reprimanded me for wanting to get a quick item in cotton running pants and a sweatshirt.

  12. I hate walking through our BX/PX...the things you see always amaze me. That visual was gross though, so thanks!

And the awkward family pictures website has been cracking me up for a while.

  13. If she wants to dress like that, then that is fine, just don't subject your children or others to your lack of class..Thanks for the website!

  15. I love that website...it is hysterical! I have thought about submitting some pictures before...LOL

  16. Back when my mom first starterd there used to be a dress code for the px and comm. - you dressed nicely. In fact there technically is still a dress code for service men and women- no flip flops or jeans etc but no one is there to enforce it ( I think my dad is the only one who actually follows it haha)... I am kind of old fashioned and think it should still be like that on military installations.

  17. Sorry, that was me! (totally kidding).

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with not appropriate.

  18. Wow to the PX, it never surprises me anymore to see what people think constitutes as appropriate "fashion"

  19. I also bet the person wearing that oufit thought she was hot shit lol.

Checking out the website now :)

  20. OMG, I LOVE that website. Who could ever be sad with that gem on the 'net!?

    :)

  21. I think that website ranks up there with the failblog site. Always good for a good laugh!

  22. Wow, that's seriously awkward. How do people ever think that's a good idea? I mean, your family as Winnie the Pooh?
Probably not the most appropriate attire, but I hate to say that's kind of the standard uniform around here in this whack-o town. I usually feel like I'm overly dressed times 100. Although I gotta say, on base is probably a whole different experience. I've had friends say they've been yelled at for wearing a tank-top dress on base...

  23. Not okay! Anywhere!! Nevermind on post with your entire family in tow.
Nice family pic. I imagine that hanging, poster size of course, right above the fire place in their living room. I'll have to check that website out. Another good one is the texts from last night website. Always good for a laugh.

  24. I've heard about that website but keep forgetting to check it out. But now I have, and just.. wow.

  25. Oh come on, I only wore my Camo hooters shirt because my Big Johnson t-shirt was dirty! :-p

Just kidding.... I don't wear daisy dukes in private, let alone in public. No thanks!!

I love awkward family photos. That site is awesome.

    My other favorite is http://www.passiveaggressivenotes.com/

    Enjoy!

  26. I don't think some people look in the mirror before they walk out of the house. I would've killed for a picture of this atrocity...although it seems as if I'll get my fill from this website you want us to check out!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love the things some people wear to base. If you think about it, you are going to your husband's office. What are they thinking?!

    Love that website too!

  28. Nice outfits. I see some really interesting ones in our PX. I am just always so stunned by how young the mothers are! They must think that something is WRONG with me!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Maybe this base is different but I rarely see completely inappropriate stuff here. Although the last time there was a mother of two wearing a see-through lace tank top that I'm pretty sure was meant only to be used in the bedroom...at night...with your husband.

But that's the only time that comes to mind. I wish I had more stuff to blog about!

  30. That outfit is gross, but I guess the Jetplanes are bad. We hit up the gym on base then go directly to the Subway at the NEX.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Okay - definitely not an appropriate outfit! As for the awkward photos; funny, weird, and creepy all at the same time!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I've been all about that site for the past month!!!

And NO it is NOT ok to wear that outfit to the PX.....ummm HECK NO

    ReplyDelete
  33. oh I love awkwardfamilyphotos! what a funny site.

second, baring your butt checks in the px is a serious no no. Althought I saw a female marine wearing a tube top dress with her cammie blouse at the hospital today so what do I know!

  34. Hehe...I've seen this website before. Amazing what people will wear out in public, huh?
