Sorry for the short blog yesterday. I was mucho tired from the event yesterday. Overall it went really well, even though we had a few bad apples in the bunch, but I guess that's to be expected.
My favorite was when we were drawing for three bikes and by that time a lot of people had left, so there was only a small group there. We drew ticket after ticket, each time announced by one particularly annoying lady, "1, 2, 3, You snooze you lose. NEXT!" Seriously by the sixth ticket I wanted to tell her to shut up. Yet somehow I kept my composure and kept my mouth shut. With people like that it's really hard.
Sean made his awesome quesadillas last night and I made Steph's awesome salsa to go with them. Seriously...a small slice of Mexican food heaven in our apartment last night!
I finally took the plunge and bought a GPS for us the other day. I went ahead and went with the Garmin nuvi 275T and it is already amazing me! I'm such a nerd about that stuff. It doesn't take much to impress me.
My Mom and brother are flying in tomorrow and I'm very excited. We have trips to Venice, Verona and Cinque Terre planned. I'm also planning on taking them to a couple of the smaller towns around here. So...if my posting is a little sporadic, that's probably why.
I hope you guys had an amazing weekend. What all did you do?
Have a great time with your family!
ReplyDeleteFamily visiting is the best! IF you like them that is:p Have such a good time! I played with my new puppy all day yesterday:p I seriously have been bad with my running ever since I got the okay from Robert. Shes just so cute! But its back to the trail today, scouts honor:p
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I want to go to Cinque Terre so badly! You'll have to tell me all about it!
ReplyDeleteWe just got a Garmin GPS a couple months ago, and we love it!! It's come in so handy.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your visitors!
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest taking the train to Cinque Terre -- the towns are only connected by the train, ferries, and super windy, one-way roads. Get a Rick Steves guidebook -- he'll tell you what to do.
ReplyDeleteAlso a good day trip is Soave -- olive oil tasting and wine tasting, and there's a castle there. It's on the way to Verona. I posted about it in January when my mom was here.
Have fun exploring!
Cool new toy!!! Have a blast with your family!
ReplyDeletei walked for cancer! it was a beautiful beautiful day/ weekend!
ReplyDeleteI went hiking in Joshua Tree!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fabulous time with your family!
Haha the comment about the "you snooze you lose" lady made me laugh. Garmin is awesome, even if the voice gets annoying. We lost ours on the drive up to ND over the winter when my car got stuck in the snow on the side of the road!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited that you've got a piece of home heading your way. Be sure to share lots of pics.
ReplyDeleteBummer that I missed out on your giveaway. I checked the Bville library for that book last week and they don't have it, so I'll probably just buy it.
Congrats on the recognition from the publisher and the interview promise. That's big stuff! I'm telling you girl, you're going places!
Be careful with that Garmin ~ Don't take every Uturn it tells you to make!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you'll have a good time with the fam.. how long are they staying?
That's great that your family is coming to visit! Very exciting!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll love the nuvi. I couldn't live without gps directions, I get lost SO easily!!
I packed. And then, I packed some more. And when I was bored with packing... I still packed.
ReplyDelete:)
Not amazing but highly productive!

Have a wonderful time with your family! I've heard that Cinque Terre is amazing! You're going to have a photographing field day there ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great time with your family on their visit!
ReplyDeleteYou totally made me want mexican food lol.
Ok, I have GOT to know how you like the GPS. We are really struggling trying to decide which one. The one y'all got is the best "deal" money wise so I totally want to know how you like it. ALSO, where is a good place for us to start looking for a nice camera? We are thinking about buying a nice one but I am not sure what to look for and where. I know you must have some tips! e-mail me if ya want! sarahdeaner@gmail.com
