Well...except for offending one lady, but other than that....
In my defense, I thought she asked me if anyone was sitting on the bench with me and I said no. In reality she asked if she could sit down. When I said no, she asked me why (In Italian of course) Not having the skills to tell her, I apologized and tried to convey the fact I misunderstood her. She sat down on my bench for a millisecond and then moved as soon as a bench came free.
The only plus was she must have thought I was Italian. Score!
I mean..isn't this an Italian face? I think the dark glasses help.
I now have two, 2 liters of wine. Beautiful, gorgeous, red wine all to myself since Sean won't be around long enough to really enjoy it.
Yes, there is some gone out of the first bottle. I had a glass
The frosting on the cake? I found my way home without getting lost once. I gave myself a big pat on the back for that one.
To all those that were looking forward to pictures, I'm sorry, but I only took a couple and not of anything interesting. Lugging the wine back was hard enough without stopping to take pictures. Hopefully I can back soon and take a few more so you can enjoy. I should have taken pictures of all the people I saw making out. Those Italians are NOT shy about showing their affection. I even saw one girl straddle her boyfriend on a bench for some closer interaction.
Awkward....
Yay! I'm glad you made it back in one piece! That's so great you didn't get lost! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's just Italians. When I was in France there was making out couples everywhere. Usually standing beside the condom machines on the streets!
There are wild pigs here? Why has no one told me this before now????
ReplyDeleteCute sunglasses, btw!
Spain was like that too!! (The excessive PDA). Love your stories :)
ReplyDeleteYeah I've totally offended people a time or two before. Shrug it off :-) You look very cute in that picture. And seriously ME judge YOU for having a glass of wine or two? It just wouldn't happen.
ReplyDeleteI've seen links to your blog on some other blogs I read, so I decided to check yours out today. I'm from Oklahoma as well! I'll come back to read some more when I have a chance.
ReplyDeleteglad it went well!
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds like a majorly awkward moment! And I think you can pull of looking Italian, Totally!
ReplyDeleteHahah!! You are DEF an Italiano in that photo.
ReplyDeleteAnd I need to confess I'm slightly jealous of your lips! In a nonlesbo way of course. :)
Ugh! Jon and I mistakenly hurt feelings all of the time, because we have no clue what people are saying. So most of the time I just say Yes and hope for the best!
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like a high school prom! =] Glad you had a good time though an thanks for the congrats. =]
ReplyDeleteOh and have you tried Rosetta Stone yet???
ReplyDeleteLots of Army folk SWEAR by it.
I recommend reading magazines to be honest... picking up on pop culture will def keep you motivated.
I'm impressed! It took me a long time to get used to going out here on my own ... let alone navigate the bus system.
ReplyDeleteIt's very hard to get used to the PDA that is just normal in Italy! Glad you had a good outing. (other than that woman. Whoops! haha)
ReplyDeleteYay congrats on going out. And when I was in France it was the same way. It was hard to get used to!
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! And didn't get lost once? Mission definitely accomplished.
ReplyDeleteThere would be NO judgement from this girl about the wine.. a glass (or 2 or 3) sounds like the perfect celebration for your first successful outing on your own!
Yay for not getting lost! :)
ReplyDeletePS - I love that "italian face" picture -- stunning.
I am new here. Just popped in to say that I was visiting. Fellow mil wife and I regularly visit over on Casey's blog. Nice shades btw :)

Wow, that wine looks awesome! And who would judge you for having a glass or twenty? Not me!
ReplyDeleteYes, the medicine thing is ridic. I had to restrain myself when he spit it out ala a 6 year old taking a vitamin. AHHH
You look super cute in your Italian pic :)
Aww I'm so proud of you! I think it would have been way longer in my case before I could set out on my own!
ReplyDeleteThat wine looks yummy! I could go for some right now!
I'd be too tempted to say "get a room", sheesh!
ReplyDeleteI think your channeling Angelina Jolie with those lips too ;)
I love wine!
