So Sara and Mmm..Tastes Good both left me the Honest Scrap award. I wish I could put the pretty little award picture up with this post, but the post library computers don't allow me to access Photobucket or even save pictures on the computer so that's a no-go.
Here are the rules:
The rules:
1. Chose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design.
2. Show the 7 winners names and links on your blog, and leave them a comment informing them they were prized with "Honest Scrap." Well, there's no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon.
3. List at least 10 honest things about yourself.
So my 10 things.
1. I hate to ski. I've been twice and both times the only part I enjoy is the bunny slope. Beginner trails? Intermediate trails? Forget them. I went down them once and wedged almost the entire time. I hate feeling out of control and skiing definetly brings that out. Yes, I do realize I'm in prime skiing areas too.
2. I always wanted brillant, emerald green eyes. However, God instead decided to give me hazel ones. If you look at them under the light they are indeed green with brown flecks, but if you look at me just normally they look brown.
3.I put my hair up as soon as I get home from whatever I'm doing. I can't stand to have it on my neck or in my face. Some might ask why not cut it short. Because quite frankly I look bad with short hair.
4.I secretly love to watch those music infommercials. Doesn't matter if it's country, 70's hits or the oldies. I watch the entire thing AND sing along.
5. I hate when people think that I'm younger than I am. I've seen 15 year olds that look older than me. I'm sure one of these days I'll enjoy looking younger than my age, but at the age of 25 it's not flattering if you think I'm under 18.
6. I've still yet to find a perfect little black dress. I need one, I look for one, but have yet to find it.
7. I wish I could be a hat person. Sara is, other friends of mine are. I however have a large head so cute hats don't always fit. I still am wanting a cloche hat to wear.
8. I love Bingo. As in I love it as much as an old person does. I was so excited today when I found out they were going to start having Bingo nights here on post.
9.I always wished I had taken dance when I was younger. It's something I really regret not doing. One of these days I'm actually going to take a dance class and see if I'm even halfway decent.
10. I cannot stand it when people can't back up their argument with an example. For example, if you tell me I've been complaining alot and I ask you what I've been complaining about I expect an example. Not giving me one makes me think you are making it up.
I'm not tagging anyone because I'm pretty sure everyone else has done this.
I look a lot younger than I am, too. Not long ago at the commissary I was checking out and the cashier asked if I could find my mom so she could check her ID.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the sweet comment!
ReplyDeleteI needed that today ;)
I'm with you on the not backing up an argument. It's so annoying!
I HATE IT when people tell me how young I look. It is NOT flattering...it just makes me feel like I am not being taken seriously. Telling a 29 year old that they look 18? Not a compliment.
ReplyDeleteI got carded for being UNDER 16 two years ago. I was 22 and got carded for being UNDER 16!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, under 21 is fine, but under 16???? I hadn't even hit puberty when I was under 16!
PS- I love Bingo too!!!
At the age of 23 I was told I couldn't go into a rated R movie...I had forgotten my license and the KID working thought I was 16.
ReplyDeleteAs for the little black dress. Kate Spade just postd her new CLOTHES. There is a FABULOUS dress!
People have thought I was under 18 ever since I turned 18. I know I'm always going to hear that because I have good genes on both sides of my family, but it does get frustrating!
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to get our marriage license (in our state, only one person has to be there), they asked me if I needed a parental consent form. Looking like I am under 17 when I was 23? Embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteI am the same way about skiing! I was horrible, and wedging the whole time just burned so badly. I don't think people think I look younger than I am, but I sound really young - especially on the phone. I'm always afraid when someone calls at work that they are going to think I let my daughter answer!
ReplyDeleteI want to be a hat person too!!! No dice.
ReplyDeleteI always pull my hair up too. I usually have it pulled back at some point during the day too. I'm with you - I look AWFUL with short hair!!!

ReplyDeleteDuring my sister's last pregnancy, I went with her to the hospital a lot because she was high risk. One time, the nurse attending my sister thought I was my sister's teenage daughter (like, thirteen years old). I was 24-years-old at the time (not to mention my sister is only four years older than me). Definitely NOT flattering.
ReplyDeletemost people think i'm about 17. i guess being 21, they aren't *too* far off, but it's still frustrating. they ask me what grade i'm in at school.
ReplyDeleteI love those music infomercials too! Congrats on the award :-)
ReplyDeleteI love Bingo too! Every time my husband and I go to the brewery on post at Fort Drum, we play. So far, we're up about.. $4. Hehe. :)
ReplyDeleteWe look so young too, we were called kids on the flight back from our honeymoon, ha! I haven't found the perfect black dress either! And I have been known to watch an infommercial or two too! ha
ReplyDeleteI admit it...I love bingo too!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was teaching high school -- I honestly got STOPPED for a hall pass.
ReplyDeleteI was like hellooooo I'm the teacher. That was fun! Ugh. ;)
bingo eh? well there is a sweet bingo spot off post....help you with your Italian numbers while gambling! what could be more fun?
ReplyDeleteI lol'd at number 4.... and yes dear someday you will be thinkful about that age thing!
ReplyDelete4-me too :)
ReplyDelete7-I wish I was too!
