It's a bit stormy here in Louisiana today. When I looked at the radar for back home (Oklahoma) I noticed that it's very cold there and snowing. Hmm...I'm not sure if I'm glad I'm missing out on that or sad that I'm not getting to experience it.
I'm still on the fence about that one.
One thing I do know is that Boomer is NOT going to like the colder weather when we go back to Oklahoma. He's already shivering here, which is precisely why I bought him his fleece hoodie to wear. He's so attached to that thing already. He actually gets mad when you take it off of him. How did I get such a demanding dog?
Speaking of Boomer, this business about him flying is getting a bit ridiculous. I made the reservation for him to be in-cabin last night and then realized that after I did it there's no way they will allow him to fly that way. He's under 20 lbs, which is the weight limit, but not under 9 inches, the height requirement. He's more like 13 inches. Which obviously doesn't allow him to fully stand up and move about his pet carrier like they require them to be able to do. So....we might have to call the grouchy lady back at in/out processing and have him changed again back to being checked luggage. I just want my dog to make it to Italy. Is that too much to ask?
Did I mention yesterday when I got my medical records that the last few pages in them were not mine? See, I went to one specialist one time when I lived in Oklahoma. This was before I got married and when the hospital here requested my medical records from back home, they obviously put my married name on the request. Well, my family doctor did it correctly, the other doctor did not and sent the medical records of a woman with the same name.
So here I am yesterday, reading through my records and I happen upon this, "patient is a 32- year- old white female, husband is considering a vasectomy."
Uh...yeah. That's obviously not me.
I got a good chuckle out of it though. I'm thinking of mailing the lady her records and telling her what happened. Now that should be interesting!
16 Days Until Christmas
I would kill to be in a warm place like you are! It is snow/sleeting here and freezing!
ReplyDeleteToo funny about the mix up!
I'm sorry your pup can't travel in cabin. That stinks. The little guy will make it!!
ReplyDeletePS-I mailed your prize Saturday :)
Oh - I am just learned it is snowy back home in KS. I think I miss it a little. I mean rain and tornadoes in December is just too weird! (that is what we had last night)
ReplyDeleteI hate that Boomer can't fly with y'all. I'm sure he'll be just fine though!
ReplyDeleteIt's weird to think that other states have snow right now. In Mississippi it's 70 degrees today!
Believe me, you don't want this Oklahoma weather today. It's not pleasantly cold with fluffy snow, the scenario is more like freezing cold sleet and icy winds that nearly knock you over. Yesterday I hardly needed a jacket and today I'm shivering in my heavy winter coat... gotta love this Oklahoma weather! :)
ReplyDeletePoor Boomer! He's in for quite the rude awakening in a few days!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I put sweaters on Roxie she hangs her head in such a pathetic way I just can't bare to see her moping around. So I just take it off.
She would rather freeze than wear clothes. She's quite the little nudist...
And *R* does have a way of calming me down or making me feel better. But he isn't always so sweet. Sometimes the things he means as compliments come out not so nice.
Like the time he told me my butt was "so nice and squishy". It took different people telling him that squishy is not a compliment for him to finally understand...and to be honest I'm not quite sure even does now!
Poor pup! He'll make it there one way or another though. I tried to put clothing on our dog one.. and only one.. time. She shook, shivered, and whimpered until we finally got the pictures we were satisfied with and took it off of her.
ReplyDeleteweather is always so crazy :S
ReplyDeleteYes... its cold as all get out in OK!!! Enjoy your storm, and good luck on the flight!
ReplyDeleteI'm nervous about going back home for Christmas too! It's COLD there! My blood has totally thinned out!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get Boomer all situated and in place you can feel comfortable.
