Keeping Up

Man...I feel like I'm not keeping up with blogs at all. Writing them or commenting on all those blogs that I love to read. So, if you notice a decline in my commenting I do apologize. Things are starting to pick-up around here and are only going to increase in the next couple of months.

So far today I've kept myself busy with doing the mail and also ordering a replacement lens cap for my camera. I lost mine while I was in Houston. I guess putting the lens cap in my back pocket of my jeans wasn't such a good idea. Hopefully this lens cap will make it here quickly, because I don't like taking my camera out to shoot without the lens cap.

The rest of my weekend turned out very well. I spent the first part of Saturday with Sara on a shopping trip to Wal-Mart and attempting to help with the organization of her apartment. I don't think I was really that much of a help, but I did iron out the puff pastry to top our delish pot pies with. Sara sent me the recipe so I'll try to post it on MRE's: Not for Me.

Speaking of MRE's: Not for me, since it's the holiday season I'd love for all you military gals out there to email me your favorite holiday recipes at osugirl713@hotmail.com or put them on the blog yourself. Thank you to everyone who has been sending or posting recipes on there, but I'd love to see a lot more on there!

It's pretty chilly here today in Louisiana and our office is freezing. I think that our heater isn't working, but thank goodness I wore a semi-warm sweater today!

I'm reading the second Jen Lancaster book right now. My friend Kebi was sweet enough to buy and send it to me and I immediately started on it as soon as it came in. It's funny and I've had several laugh out loud moments, but I'm not sure if I laughed as much with this book as I did with her first book.

Anyone out there want to see the new movie Four Christmases as much as I do? I think it looks beyond hilarious and I really enjoy both Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. I told Sean we HAD to see it over Thanksgiving break, but we also talked about going to Vicksburg that weekend too, so I'm hoping we can fit in both of those things. Can you believe I haven't been to Mississippi yet? I've lived in Louisiana 11 months and have yet to visit Mississippi. I've meant to several times, but just never got around to it. I'm determined to get there before we leave though and up my states visited count to 30.

You know where I'd really love to go for the holidays? New York City! I've been there, but never during this time of year. I'd love to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in person. Visit Rockefeller Center when they put the tree up and browse all the shops with the cute Christmas displays. Maybe one of those days I'll be able to do that.

I finally completed my photo book on Saturday. I cannot wait to see it! In case you haven't had time to make yours yet, they've extended the deadline to make them until the 22nd of November. So if you haven't done it yet, then go do it! Shipping is only about $6.99 which I say is well worth it for a really neat gift for yourself or others.

Oh..and one more thing. Anyone want to give me any good stuffing recipes? Just email them to me if you would please!

Enjoy your Monday!

  1. Believe me, you keep up with blogging a lot better than I do! I look at my status and it's usually, "Hmm, has it been 5 days since my last post, really?"

Wish I could help you out with the stuffing recipe. I don't like it a grew up with my mom making it out of the box. Oh...maybe that's the problem!

  2. Yes, I can't wait to see that movie, too! It looks really funny.

NYC at Christmas is totally worth it! Once I went there a few days after Christmas, but they still had all the decorations up. The decorated store windows were sooo cool.

  3. I was in NYC for the lighting of the tree in Rockefeller Center in 2004. I must say, it was crazy packed with people. I was thisclose to Jessica Simpson however, and I read the writing on the wall with her and Nick's marriage when he introduced her and they didn't touch or anything and left in separate limos. I remember some random New Yorkers helping us hop a barricade to get out of the crowds! But I loved it, I would go back in a heartbeat!!

  5. Vicksburg! I live really close to Vicksburg. What are you going to do there? I think you just missed the Fall Pilgrimage, but there will probably be lots of historic homes to tour during the Christmas season.

  6. OK. I made my book and now it won't credit me! Since you obviously are better at working Snapfish than me, can you help me out!? It's my mom's Christmas present and now that I worked on it for 2 hours I really want it. :)

  7. Nevermind! I argued with customer service until they figured it out. :) Thanks for letting me know that I had through the 22nd!
