First of all, Happy Halloween!
I have the feeling this might be a long post, so bear with me folks.
So...I went and got my hair done yesterday. Several things happened with that.
1. I've never been to this lady before, normally I wait and just go back to my fave stylist in Oklahoma, but my hair was a fright so I needed something done ASAP.
2. I showed the lady what I wanted, although I couldn't print off that Gisele picture from yesterday's blog in color, so I had to substitute with magazines they had at the salon.
3. My hair was green, green! Not from anything she did, but the chemicals in the water on-post are so hard that they turn my blonde hair green. Picture me swimming everyday for the last four months and that's what my hair looked like. Somehow my shampoo wasn't helping with that.
4. My hair turned out good and it is darker, but it is not the color of lovely Gisele's hair. It is more my natural, darker blonde that my roots are these days. I'm not saying it doesn't look good, but it's not a drastic change. In fact, Sean told me it doesn't look any different, but I assure you it does.
So, I'll still post pics, but it looks like I won't get my Gisele hair until I go back to Oklahoma.
I think I might be babysitting for a couple of hours on Saturday. I'm pumped because that means another opportunity for baby pictures! Sean is working some of Saturday anyway, so it's not like I'm going to be up to a whole lot.
Ok, so as some of you know I'm part of a forum for Army Wives. We have a debate board on there and currently some of us are debating the to vaccinate/not vaccinate issue. I personally am for vaccinating, but that's a whole other blog that I'll have to do at a later time. What frustrates me about this debate though is that the women that are for not vaccinating are spreading myths/rumors about various vaccinations, without backing it up with any credible source. That is my biggest pet peeve. Please DO NOT state something as fact, when in fact it is your opinion. I've proven them wrong several times with various sources I've found, mainly from the CDC. I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I cannot stand when people don't back up what they are saying. Guess it's the reference librarian in me.
This week, we put out an ad for someone to replace me. You would not believe the amount of resumes we've gotten in! Our mailbox everyday is brimming with them. I have to admit that I do look through a few of the resumes if something catches my eye. Well today, there were two things.
1. One girl sent in a cover letter written on notebook paper. I wanted to call her and tell her to never do that again.
2. Another girl listed on her resume some extracurricular activities. They happened to include, sitting on her back porch, sipping coffee and watching the sunset. WTH? Why would you include that on a resume? I seriously sat there and laughed for about two minutes.
Obviously some people need some serious resume help!
Now for the fun part of the post. Friday Fun Questions- Spooky Style!
1. What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up?
2. Name three kinds of candy you always wanted to see in your trick-or-treat bag.
3. If you were a Jack O'Lantern, what would your face look like?
My Answers:
1. I think my favorite costume was the year I was a ballerina. My mom made me a purple tu-tu. I had the cutest leotard and slippers to go with it.
2. Reeses, Mr. GoodBar and regular Hershey's bars. So good!
3.
Can't wait to hear your answers!
I can't wait to see your hair - I have blonde hair too that used to turn green from harsh chemicals in water. I had to use a declarifying shampoo - enough abou that though.
ReplyDelete1. Favorite costume - probably a pumpking when I little. I had the chubby cheeks to match!
2. Nerds - I'm not the biggest chocolate fan and I love nerds!
3. Hmm - I'm not sure how to describe this, but probably pretty traditional.
I was expecting pictures NOW! I can't wait to see it! Like I said, with your face shape you can pull off just about any style. And I'm all about making a change every once in a while.
ReplyDelete1. I love pumpkin costumes! This year I really wanted to be a flapper though!
2. You and I are in agreement: Reeses cups and snickers!
3. I'd be either a happy pumpkin or a slightly evil looking pumpkin!
Oh my word, those resumes sound absolutely priceless!! That is too funny.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I want to see pictures of the hair! I bet it is gorgeous!
I'm excited to see your hair!! I'm sure it looks fab!
ReplyDelete1. When I was little I dressed as a Southern Belle with a big hat and big dress. So fun to wear!
2. Snickers, Baby Ruths, and Peanut M&Ms.
3. Big smilely face! I love to smile and laugh.
Happy Halloween friend!
HAHA! Love the resumes! Can't wait to see your hair!
ReplyDelete1- Lindsey stole mine! Mine was my southern belle costume also! I had this big white dress with green ruffles and ploka-dots and a huge green hat that a ribbon to tie under my chin. It was awful and wonderful at the same time! I wore if for like a week!
2 - In my home town there was a house that gave out regular size candy bars, so it was a big deal to get one of those. Didn't matter what kind!
3 - My pumpkin face -- well, I'm not sure about this one...Sorry!
1. Tooth Fairy! I even had pink sparkle shoes.
ReplyDelete2. 3 Musketeers and caramels
3. I like to carve my pumpkins into cat faces. (I'm posting a pic on my blog today...be sure to check for it)
As a nurse, it always scares me when people don't vaccinate. I understand their personal fears and if they decide that not vaccinating is best for their kids, fine. But what about the other kids? By sending their unvaccinated kids to daycare or school they are endangering the immunized kids with diseases that are preventable (yes, repeat exposure can sometimes trump the vaccine, sadly.)
Can't wait to see your gorgeous locks! I died when I read that girl's hobbies... Sounds way more like a match.com profile to me!
ReplyDeleteThe resumes are hilarious! It almost makes me wonder what they are thinking when they don't hear back from you. Something along the lines of, "I can't believe they aren't calling. I would be so perfect..."
ReplyDeleteYeah, the vaccination thing gets me too. I was listening to NPR (sorry, I AM over 40! :D) and there was a show about the whole vax/autism thing. In the UK, certain diseases are spreading at an alarming rate because there has been such a downturn in vax. Very sad!
My fave costume was the year I was a gypsy. I am SO serious, even as a child, and gypsies just seem so WILD! :D
My fave candy for Halloween is definitely Reeses. I have been stealing them out of my kids bags for years! But also Charleston Chews. Love the chewy chocolate dipped marshmallows.
My pumpkin would definitely be a smiley one, but with huge teeth, my teeth are enormous, and glasses (I don't wear them) for my seriousness.
Love your blog!
I loved dressing up as a Geisha, and I hoped for anything chocolate. My Jack O Lantern face would probably, at this very moment, be looking exhausted and not very frightening.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely post a hair pic, I bet it looks great! I am so with you on the candy, yummm!
ReplyDeleteThose resume errors are hilarious!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween to you too!!
ReplyDeleteit's funny you say that about your hair. I went and got mine done last weekend and i KNOW it is much darker than usual and not one person (chris, parents, friends) noticed. Everyone says it looks the same. I don't think so. haha
ReplyDeleteI saw a really cute little red riding hood. Her boyfriend was dressed as the big bad wolf. Too cute! But, the one in the bustier just got me. I mean, seriously, it was in the 40s!
