Well, Hurricane Gustav moved through our immediate area without much damage, but just over the line into Rapides Parish most residents are out of electricity. We got lucky and the storm went more north of us which put us on the western side of the storm, which is the better side of it.
Our electricity is not out (obviously) and it did flicker a few times, but thankfully stayed on. It rained most of last night into today and just recently stopped to a drizzle.
Hopefully I'll be back to work tomorrow and the residents of the coast will be back to their homes quickly.
Glad to hear you didn't have any damage and retained power. I am in extreme south Rapides Parish and the whole parish is 100% out of power. We are on generator right now and able to run a few fans, lamps, small tv and computer to be able to update friends/family. Phone service is spotty--will work, then not work. We have tons of trees and power lines down and don't have a clue as to when it services will be back up. Talk to you later!!e
